if posted already..merge it baby! http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f..._from_acl_injury_to_participate_in_june_.html Kris Jenkins is ready to hit someone. The Jets' mammoth defensive tackle told the Daily News that he'll be ready for the team's three-day minicamp starting June 14. Jenkins, rehabbing from a season-ending ACL injury, took part in a few individual drills Thursday with the defensive linemen for the first time since Organized Team Activities started two weeks ago (He spent all of last week on the stationary bike). "I got to do something to move around," Jenkins said. "I don't want to be on the bike all the time. I do what they tell me to." Jenkins left little doubt that he'll be ready to participate during mini-camp, a good sign for the top-ranked defense that could become downright scary with Jenkins back in the middle. "Why not?" Jenkins said. "If they tell me I can't or they don't want me to, then I won't. I want to. That's what I've been shooting for. If not, then ok. But I at least want to get some practices in before I go to training camp." Apparently, playing with his kids can't simulate game conditions. "It is (a workout)," Jenkins said. "But my kids aren't hitting like the rest of the league is. That's a very light double team there." Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...ry_to_participate_in_june_.html#ixzz0pB5OHCXW
He is ahead in the biggest loser contest. Anyway Jenkins is so big if he wanted to lose 30 pounds all he has to do is clip his toenails. Jaywayne good to see you buddy...... Jenkins coming back more than any other defensive acquisition really makes my toes tingle.
MP..back at you...hope all is well bud. Rex has a bit more flexibility with Jenkins this year. Doesnt have to use him as a constant plug the way he has been used in the past which should add miles and quality performance to his season. Exciting times IF everything works out my friend.
Jenkins is an all-pro when healthy. If he can overcome this injury (and I think he will), OLs around the league will be shitting themselves watching tape on this guy. His first 12 games of 2008 were probably the most dominant games I've ever seen by an NT... commanding occasional TRIPLE teams. Playing a little more 4-3 will help out his durability issues and keep him fresh.
Jenkins said that he needed to lose 10 pounds before Rex and the staff let him practice. He seems to be doing well getting the weight off. It will come naturally considering he hasnt been exercising much since his injury. He'll get down to 370-365 by training camp by just riding the bike.
