Further down the crime blotter, Jerry Jones was fined 250k for flipping off Jets fans on Sunday.

 

Any judge worth a Shit would clearly know NY JETS and "impeccable reputation and career" do not go together and toss that countersuit in the trash....

 

As if we don't deserve it...

 

Anybody associated with the Jets for any appreciable amount of time cannot have an “impeccable reputation and career” almost by definition.

 

Does anyone remember Hymie Elhai's Curriculum Vitae on his public resume after he was first hired by Woody Johnson in 2019? He said something like, "Marital status: Single. REALLY single!"

I laughed and said, "What is this? This thing sounds like a pitch for a dating website, not some guy who just got promoted. Only the Jets."

I swear on my life this is true. I looked up his hire on the Jets website just now and it's some homogenized pablum, but I'm telling you all, I'm not crazy. Well, maybe a little, but that's immaterial. I remember everything.

Off-topic (sort of), but for what it's worth, I totally believe that Peyton Manning stuck his scrotum in the face of PE Trainer Jamie Nauright when he was at Tennessee. I absolutely believe he did that, especially given how protected he was on all fronts. Just figured I'd dredge that up for fun.

 

If the employee’s lawsuit has legs then it could conceivably put Woody in a position where other owners pressure him to sell the team.

Robert Kraft is still here though, so unless the owners are tired of Woody, he’s not going anywhere.

The Jets are now the 8th most valuable team in the league. If my memory serves correctly they used to be in the top 5. They had the second lowest year over year increase of any team in the league in 2025 at 17% and were well below the league average (which was heavily bolstered by a few team to be fair) of 25%.

If that continues, owners will find a way to push him out, scandal or otherwise.

Then again, he can just sell a stake to a private equity firm to push the numbers up periodically and keep himself in the other owners good graces.

 

@Jets81 this isn't scandal enough. I hear what you're saying, but the NFL is like the Vatican minus the hypocrisy of religion. They will shore up their borders before offering up a sacrificial lamb that's worth their time, and of course, something that threatens BIG money. This ain't it.

See how we fire people over sexual harassment, this behavior will not be tolerated! That isn't what's happening at all here. Just like that completely full of crap 'No More' campaign over domestic violence when incident after incident kept "marring" the "integrity" of the league, something analogous would occur if this case as a litmus test for bullshit was to the league's benefit. It isn't.

Hymie Elhai should defend himself against allegations, sure; but my guess is the countersuit and the money behind it will crush the plaintiff into giving up/accepting a "small" settlement, and it all goes away.

I don't know. I reckon it's different rules for who is employed by a team in management for a team and the players, but I remember that Josh Brown thing and how that was "handled". Horrendous.

Anyway, zero consistency. I remember when Ben Roethlisberger was suspended for 8 games for a rape accusation in a bar bathroom (which I believe occurred), and it got reduced to 6 games with no explanation. I guess he didn't rape anybody over the Summer before the season started.

Who names their kid Hymie? I mean, you’re practically asking to have him beaten up on the playground on a daily basis. No wonder he’s not good with making it with the ladies.

 

Hopefully Woody asked for nudes on the same email thread and we can finally have the scandal we need to oust him.

 

It's short for Hyman (see Hyman Roth of 'The Godfather'), which is even worse.

 

This is an issue involving the team president and the fact that the team countersued means they are fighting the allegations.

But even if they are true, this is nowhere near big enough to get Woody out…if anyone loses a job over this, it would be Hymie…that would be the solution they would just fire him and move on.

Not important enough and it doesn’t actually seem to involve the owner anyway.
