First half points against Tampa was 41, we were just one point off pace.......Let's not worry about the record though, let's just get out of this game healthy and well rested...
I am more impressed with the defensive shutout than the points. 20 of the points were off defenses turnovers anyway.
IIRC, that was the year following the travesty where Tampa allowed us to score just so they could get the ball back and have James Wilder get the all-purpose yards record with like 1 minute remaining in the game. We rolled all over them that game and every time I see the Bucanneers on tv I think of that game.
How about most lopsided win? I believe it was a 42 point margin against the Houston Oilers on September 18, 1988 (45-3). Edit: the team scoring record is 62 points on November 17, 1985 against Tampa Bay (a 62-28 win).
Jets don't pile on, but still have their biggest victory margin ever. Every aspect of the team gets an A+ grade today.
Just another note: In 2 games at home vs. NFC West teams this year we have scored 103 points overall and combined led 74-0 in the first halves of those games.
By the way, I was hoping we'd keep scoring as SL was the team that kicked on onside kick against us in 2001 when they were up 20 pts in the 4th qtr. So far this year we blew out Warner(who was the Rams QB in the game), blew out the Rams and in december we get a chance to do it to Mike Martz at SF.
