GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers lost a longtime member of their scouting department shortly after the draft when Lee Gissendaner took a job with the New York Jets. Gissendaner, who had been with the Packers since 1998, will be a national scout for the Jets. He had been an area scout for the Packers since 2001. He was the only person in general manager Ted Thompson's personnel department to leave after the draft. Scouts' contracts typically run through the end of draft season. It was not immediately known how -- or if -- the Packers will replace him. http://espn.go.com/blog/green-bay-p...ckers-lose-area-scout-lee-gissendaner-to-jets
Excited for this move, if you can grab a big time scout from the Packers, it's a huge win. Packers are prob the best drafting team in the league today.
Them or the Ravens. It's true though. Look at their draft history especially the recent draft history; it seems like they draft 3 starters a year. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/gnb/draft.htm
I think the Ravens are right up there also. They always seem to reload and find talent in every round.
Finding great scouts is key for any team and the last 40 plus years our scouts weren't getting the job done. If the Jets revamped scouting department can get a solid 5 years of talent in here I think the Jets will take that next step.
7 rounds, how hard can it be? Now Baseball, that is where scouting is essential. Football needs a minor league other than College and the CFL.
Rich Cimini retweeted Nick Wagoner@nwagoner ยท Brian Shields, who scouted west coast for Rams, has taken scouting job with New York Jets. Talented, young scout.
Maybe Macc can hit a trifecta and upgrade our cheerleaders while he's at it....love to see him steal a few cow-girls or steal some bitches from the Buc's squad!
