we are broke any FA that come in here s more than likely gonna be some 2nd tier FA. and you cant rely heavy on rookies to determine your season.

You just don't seem to grasp the concept that we are infact rebuilding.

Here are the issues with our team...

    - Bad offensive line
    - We have a QB that has suffered two injuries to his throwing shoulder two years running.
    - We have an aging Running back
    - We have a whole in the interior defensive line (Nose tackle)
    - We are going to lose John Abraham (Not a minor loss)
    - We have question marks at OLB, CB and TE.
    - We have an entirely new coaching staff (When this happens it usually takes the team one full year to learn the new systems...)
    - We have Big time problems with the salary cap.

The list is endless. We are rebuilding. Your optimism, while it is admirable, is annoying just about everyone on this board. We are NOT going 13-3 next year.

    O-Line: Draft and FA
    C-Mart: Draft DeAngelo
    Chad: Backup in 06
    D-Line: FA
OLB, CB, and TE are fine. Baker was in the middle of a breakout year and miller can start along with barret.
I consider having a new coaching staff an improvement.
Cutting chad's pay will help our cap and they're are plently more moves we can make to get room.

You are simply assuming that everything is going to work out.

Chris Baker is a Free Agent.

Justin Miller, while I do like him, as not proven anything yet.

Our coaching staff COULD be an improvement, but they are all very young and to expect 13-3 out of them with all of our problems is just ridiculous.

So now you want Chad gone...who replaces him and leads our team to
    13-3?

Who's to say that our rookie Olineman and free agent Olineman will pan out year one? Usually it takes some time for a oline to gel.

You are overrating the Jets and hopefully after the year you will realize you have alot to learn.

By the way we aren't drafting Deangelo.

the only problem is that if Quinn has the season i expect him to next season, he will be out of reeach for the Jets. (theyll be bad next season but by no means the worst in the league)

yeah, i tihnk the jets would be willing to trade up, take a seaosn with Vinny then draft quinn by trading up

    IMO...

If Chad comes to an agreement we give him a year to prove himself. Then we go into next years draft thinking QB, but that could be subject to change, depending on his performance. But we still either draft a QB this year on day 2, or sign a vet (or both)

If we dont come to an agreement (and I believe we will), then we cut our losses, and take best available QB at 4. One of the top 4 (Bush, Leinart, Young, Cutler) will drop to 4, and we could take em there. But IMO well go with scenario 1, because it looks like were getting close to a deal

Resign Chris Baker, it would be stupid not to resign him. And as for a replacement for Chad how about someone like Patrick Ramsey, Jon Kitna, or Josh McCown?

So you think Josh McCown and Patrick Ramsey could lead this team to a 13-3 record? You do realize the Jets in their entire HISTORY have NEVER gone 13-3 and you are predicting they do it now of all times?!

You really have no idea what you are talking about...

First off, if we're gonna start rebuilding this year, we should take the QB. It takes a couple of years to develop a quarterback in this league and we should start now. There is no gurantee that Brady Quinn will be awesome this year or that he wont get a severe injury. Plus, what if the number one pick is a different team and they need a QB, there's no gurantee for the next year for us. So what I am saying is that if we need a QB and we have a chance for a franchise QB this year we need to take him !!!!!

i would take brady quinn every day of the week over cutler...i've seen cutler in play, and he wasn't anymore impressive than darnell hackney from UAB was

not to mention we need an offensive line...we could start jerald sowell (read: god) at QB and it wouldn't matter

    good teams have good lines
you can't convince me that trent dilfer was a good QB when the ravens won the super bowl

Maybe Brady Quinn is better than Cutler, but this is our chance to get a franchise QB, # 4 pick, you dont get that opportunity every year. Maybe next year isnt a good year for QB's, so this is our chance. Who else is there besides Brady Quinn ? So what if we dont get Quinn ???, then what ?

this is true, i just don't see cutler as a franchise QB...i may be wrong, and if we draft him, i hope i'm wrong, but i just feel we have way more needs than QB...like i said, fantastic offensive lines have made many QB's look a lot better than they are, and we definatly have needs on the line
