Ok, I was just thinking. Lets say hypothetically, we slaughter the Pats next week (remember, this is just hypothetical). I'm talking like 45-3 slaughter. So their season starts to just spiral out of control, people begin questioning Belichick, they lose a game or 2 they shouldn't lose (Chiefs, Redskins, Dolphins, etc.), Brady looks a bit off like he has these last couple of weeks, Ocho gets cut, and they finish around 9-7, missing the playoffs. Do you think there's any chance Belichick would sell high (Brady is currently still top 2) and trade Brady for lots of picks, and maybe they go after Luck with all these picks? Or perhaps Belichick likes one of the other guys, Jones, Barkley, etc. Normally I would say no chance in hell, but who knows with this coldhearted hobo.
Yea youre probably right, but I was thinking Belichick has got to know how much Brady covers his teams weaknesses, and that Brady probably doesnt have a ton of years left so if he sees Luck as a once in a generation talent, you don't think he would think about it?
Nope, Never. Brady has at least 2 more years of being an elite QB and he is the face of the franchise. As much as Belifuck loves his draft picks and as much as I want to see him fuck up over and over again with his drafting, this will never happen.
It's going to be impossible to trade up for Luck unless maybe the Rams get the #1 pick. ....your teams not going to get better losing Tom Brady.
let me get this straight Brady masks all of his teams weaknesses so instead of using the draft picks they have to fill those holes he trades the very player that is directly responsible for all their success, just to replace him with a player at the same position. this is by far one of the dumbest fucking hypotheticals I've ever encountered on any board. it doesn't make a shred of sense. what team with a shot at Luck is going to trade out of that spot for Brady while giving up a bunch of picks like you think would happen, rather than trade up to get Luck and his long career? I mean, your scenario is outright fucking stupid if you take it at face value as Belichick trading Brady for Luck straight up, then you add in the team trading out of Luck is also giving up a bunch of picks just to get Brady...holy fucking shit man! holy shit!!!!!!!! the sheer amount of retardation it takes to even consider whether this had any merit is astounding.
Jesus christ, haha some of you guys are relentless. I get what you're saying though, even though what I meant was another team giving up the picks for Brady, a team that is on the brink. (49ers, Cowboys?) Then the Pats use them plus some of their other picks to get Luck. It was just a thought that popped up, like maybe Belichick trying to set himself up for the next 10-15 yrs, instead of going with Brady for the next 4-5. That is if he believed Luck was absolutely a no doubt stud. But then again I know what you guys mean, its very unlikely. Just wanted to know what you guys thought about it
I could see them trading Welker on the other hand, and Ocho getting cut is an absolute gimme no matter what happens.
Its not like they were blown out in any of their losses. Sure their D sucks, but they were in position to steal one against Pitt, and could have easily beaten the Bills and Giants.
