Say that the Chicago Bears were among suitors for Deion Branch, don't want to give up a first, yatta yatta, then said that they are looking into Justin McCareins. Didn't go much further than that, but they want J-Mac. Thought I'd pass it along.
if we could do a J-Mac & second day draft pick for Branch, I'd do it EDIT: nevermind, re-read it and realize he means the bears want him.... there goes my joy
I think he meant that the Bears were looking at Justin McCareins. In that case I'd take another second.
The Bears are looking into Branch but don't want to give up a 1st so J Mac is their backup plan.... Fine with me but at least a 4th rounder I would think is the asking price, actually whatever we gave up for Barlow would work for me
As much as i want J-mac gone, I don't see him going anywhere. Our Wr depth is thin at the moment and we need all the bodies we currently have. Am hoping that after cuts are made we can find a vet out there to bring in.
We're not deep at WR, why give up our #2 or 3 WR? it amazes me how quickly forgte how important he was as our top WR down the stretch in 2004.
You are right on! Chicago has the beef to help us! How about TANK Johnson for J-Mac. Tank is their #3 DT.
It amazes me that people still think he is a starting WR after a few game stretch where he actually made a few tough catches. He is entering his 6th season and he is what he is -- An overpaid #3 WR. Do you really think Mangini would have praised him after the Giants game if they weren't trying to trade him? However, I only think the Jets would be willing to take the cap hit if they got a player that could help them this year, not a draft pick.
te Bears DTs couldn't be a worse match for our scheme if they tried. And that's just problem #1 with this ridiculousness.
I agree. I think it's only a matter of time before he regains his form. He's had some key moments that show glimmers of what he's capable of.
I agree that we're forgetting the tough (man-style) catches that J-Mac made during the 2004 stretch run. That Keyshawn like toughness is a rare commodity. I think what to J-Mac last year was the Cole/Moss trade. In 2004, Moss was a deep threat that stretched the defense allowing J-Mac to work underneath. In 2005, Coles returns with the same skill set as McCareins: Great hands, fearlessness over the middle, but no deep speed. You had two guys running 15 yard crossing patterns and nobody to pull them deep. Oh yeah, and there was the little matter of having an injured Pennington not being able to reach these guys over 40 yards to start the season, and then the offensive implosion after Chad, Mawae and Martin went down. J-Mac will bounce back, big.
JMac makes tough catches? In the middle of the field? Where the hell have I been the past few years? He's a taller Santana Moss, minus the speed.
J-Mac for Thomas Jones straight up...... they do probably have a player or 2 we could use....maybe a DT for heaven's sakes
J-MAC Is an overpaid 3. Nothing More nothing less. Get a Dt or a draftpick for him while we still can.
