Houston is a dominant pass rusher and I have a feeling he will be Mac's/Bowles first big splash! What do you think it will take? $70M - $40M guaranteed over 4 years?
a bit of a luxury anyway, rather spend huge in a bigger spot of need (especially not one that can be solved in the draft) a worlids does us just fine.
This is why fans should be restricted to fantasy football because you have absolutely no concept of budget or cap space. You want to give him 70 mil for 4. Give us our Idzik.
17.5m/year is just too much. He's probably the best in the game, but that seems like a ton to pay someone. Currently the highest paid 3-4 OLB on average salary per year is Clay Matthews at 13.2. I'd consider if it was about 70M over 5 years. But with a contract like that, they'd better have some bargains at other positions or think highly of some guys already on the roster.
do we really need to make threads about players we have no chance in hell of getting? He will be Franchised
although I love Houston I would rather give a promising guy like worilds less money and lock him up. use the extra money to resign/restructure our own and get some o-line and secondary help. but I really don't see how they wont tag him
The fans care about big ticket items and splash acquisitions. But it's no way to run a franchise. Smart teams like the Steelers and Patriots almost never overpay for talent. They go for good players in quantity who can fit into a system.
