Guys, I don't start many threads as I think most of you cover the info well. However I had to mention this, as I have seen this team on defense since he became DC, the lack of adjustments with Revis and the safeties is pretty unbelievable. I understand that they game plan a scheme for each team, but how long is KR going to eliminate the safety help for our CBs? Man to man is not the strength of this secondary, so far I have seen this secondary get burned with big plays because of Rodgers insistence on playing man to man. What are your guys thoughts?
On one of the long passes they had schemed safety help but the safety froze or bit on a shorter route revis was expecting it. Man you guys are over reacting, The bengals are a very good close to elite of the afc as it gets, I agree the game plan should have been more aggressive at times but they left 4 points out there in a point game. If they did not miss the extra point or the field goal they are in place where they win the game without the plan they put together they no where close.... maybe they got burnt because they have an elite qb and receiver who get paid to make plays also. If this the Jags then yes I would be more pissed and expect this reaction
You're right that the Bengals are an elite team, but they were vulnerable with several starters out. Good teams take advantage of these situations. The Jets usually struggle to do so. I can't speak for the others, but that's why I was so frustrated yesterday. As you said, we should have won that game, yet we didn't. They found a different way to lose. Their usually ultra-reliable kicker missed and extra point and a FG. I'm not one to believe in "curses," but sometimes it's hard not to with the Jets. There were so many ways they could have won that game yesterday (and perhaps should have won) in spite of the missed PAT and FG. It's also hard to see yet another coach get conservative at crunch time and wind up losing because of it, but I'd rather lose going for it, playing aggressive, then lose by wimping out and going passive. I'm surprised that Bowles continues to do this. I realize that with Fitz, he has good reason to play it safe, and he believes he should be able to trust in his D, but that approach is not working to date.
