PFT had earlier posted a thread on Stanford Keglar, a player from Purdue, who apparently has pending criminal charges against him. Keglar's agent responded to PFT's report and the following is the blog from PFT:

"In the interests of being fair and balanced (as opposed to our usual strategy of being arbitrary and capricious), we?ve been contacted by the agent for Titans rookie linebacker Stanford Keglar, who wanted to give us Keglar?s side of the story as to our posting from earlier today regarding Keglar?s pending criminal charges.

Jeff Chilcoat of Sterling Sports Management in Columbus, Ohio tells us that he expects Keglar to be cleared. ?We fully anticipate the charges will be dropped later this month,? Chilcoat said by phone. (And since it?s the 28th day of the month, the dropping of the charges therefore should come fairly soon.)

Chilcoat explained that Keglar was a bystander in a bar fight involving former Purdue tight end Dustin Kellar, who was selected in the first round on Saturday by the Jets. Kellar apparently was on the losing end of the deal, so Keglar jumped in to break it up.

    Supposedly.

We?ve got no reason to doubt Chilcoat for claiming that his client is innocent, and we appreciate Chilcoat giving us his client?s side of the story. But the reality is that every agent or lawyer with a client facing criminal charges is going to say the guy didn?t do it.

Regardless of whether, you know, he did."

Did anybody know about this? Obviously I'm sure Tangini did their homework, but if we're going to pick players who like to bar fight at least we could pick the winner of the fight.

Maybe someone was starting with him, he ignored them, and then was sucker-punched or something and this other guy jumped in. It's possible anyway :)

Who cares. Anyone can land a lucky shot on anyone. Especially in a bar with lots of distractions, friends etc..

I have no clue what exactly went down if anything but I will say this...

Good restraint by Keller or whoever, because if he struck someone GUARANTEED he would be losing some money and wouldent be near Round 1. No one cares who did it to Keller but if Keller had retaliated, because hes a known name he would be in much, much more trouble.

Besides, I am pretty sure a 6'4 240 lbs Tight End would win most fights unless hes facing The Terminator or some shit.

You can't judge anyone on how well they do in a bar fight. If you have ever been in one you would know. Most of the guys are plastered, no one knows who they are fighting or why. You just try to survive, and you don't really remember what happened in the morning. At least that was my experience. I don't remember how well I did, but I remember my ribs were bruised, so I don't think I ended up on the winning end.

In any case I don't care if he can fight, just as long as he can catch and run.
