http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...ndry-on-jets-pup-list-for-training-camp-start Certainly not cause for panic, but it has to be a concern.
Demario Davis, Jordan White and Terrence Campbell were also placed on PUP today. Apparently Landry's injury is a heel thing and not related to his Achilles, so that part of it is good news. Hopefully it won't keep him out that long.
I was always sure he wasn't gonna go hard in training camp since he's recovering from the injury and they just want him in time for pre-season. As for DeMario, That's a bit of a concern.
If at all possible he'll play. This is his opportunity at a genuine pay day. He won't screw that up unless he truly can not go. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
i cant see laundry not being ready by week 1, even if he doesnt participate in camp and doesnt play pre season as long as he is in the classroom learning the defense i think we will be fine.
If he can't go to start the season we have Yeremiah Bell to come in and start at SS. Hopefully Josh Bush can pick up the defense quickly to be able to start at FS. Also, if he can't go, it's possible we could bring back Leonhard as well.
If the team statement is correct than there's nothing to worry about, it's foot related not ankle/achilles. As long as it's not the same nagging achilles I'm sure he'll befine.
As I understood it, when the Jets signed him, they never expected Landry to be healthy for the start of TC, and really we should only expect him to be fully healthy for a full weeks practice, for the first week of the season. So at this point no reason to worry, hes right on schedule. If memory serves the reports at mandatory OTAs was that the team doctors were confident he was actually ahead of schedule in his rehab. In three weeks if he isn't even starting individual drills every day or two, then we can start freaking out about him not being ready to play week 1
So, it remains to be seen when Landry plays, and how much he plays. I could even say whether, but no need to go there. I don't see what else can be concluded about this guy. He was let go for a reason, obviously. The Jets are not smarter than every other team in the league.
But lets not make a mountain out of a molehill either! The team is doing what it feels is necessary to get him ready for game 1 of the NFL season. I think we still have quite awhile to get Landry up to speed!
Unless someone else hasn't picked up Leonhard. But I'm hoping he's still available too. Leonhard is probably our best backup candidate because he knows the system so well.
