Now that we are well under the cap, does anyone think we might go after him. I honestly like our LBs alot, especially w/ a healthy Barton coming back. But adding this freak would make for some Steeler-esque type LBs flying all over the field making plays in a 3-4 D.

So is he too much of a problem player (injury prone and undisciplined) for Mangini?
    or
Could he be an excellent piece to a 3-4 D w/ great potential. Also think that we will most likely get a BIG DT, whether it be in FA or draft and could very seemingly draft Mario Williams @4. Think about it:

    SS- Coleman
    FS- Rhodes
    CB- Barrett, Miller
    MLB- Hobson, Vilma
    OLB- Arrington, Barton
    DT- DRob (for now)
    DE- Ellis
    DE- Mario

All I'm saying is I wouldn't be upset w/ that as our starting D.

I'd love us to go after him, he'd be a great piece in the 3-4 and will replace some of the pass rush we lost with Abe.

Expect to give around $15 million in bonuses, if not more...

Thought Rhodes was a strong safety...

Anyway...I would love Arrington, but definitaly expect to overpay for him.

I think he was to in Hendu's D. But w/ his leaping skills and ability to get a hand on the ball I think him and Coleman should switch in this D.

I don't want to overpay either. What did Peterson get from Seattle

Arrington's nice, but he will get way more than he is worth.

arrington would be the playmaker that would be this team over the edge as far as top defenses.. with vilma barton and arrington running around making plays, our defense would not miss abraham's pass rush that much.. we can adopt the same kind of style as the steelers D with blitzing LBs to wreak havoc.. if we do sign him, a 5 year-27 million dollar contract wouldnt be so bad.... with proper coaching, maybe we could turn him into the next l. taylor..

Lavar is a great player, but will command a huge signing bonus. I am not sure the new regime is willing to throw that much money at a player labeled a "troublemaker"

Peterson set the bar for Arrington when he signed that huge deal with Seattle. He and Barton would be sick as the OLB's though.
    He definitely won't be cheap

He is far too undisciplined for Mangini.

His reputation is that he freelances a lot on the field, but I dont recall ever hearing that he was a bad guy or a problem child until the Postons Fd up and forgot to read his damn contract before they told him to sign it.

Were not talking about TO here, or even Randy Moss. Hes a decent guy who plays hard. And who knows, maybe 2 years out of the game will have changed him, maybe hell appreciate the game enough now to buy into a coach's philosophy and play the way hes supposed to.

Pure speculation of course, but the point is they wont know until they bring him in and talk to him, and hes more than talented enough for them to spend the time talking to him and find out where his hearts at. With Bentley long gone, theres nobody Id rather see the Jets sign than Arrington.

Bingo. That's why Marvin Lewis and Greg Williams both can't stand him, and both benched his ass in Washington (and also got in spats with him subsequently over that and what he was doing on the field). It's also why I believe the Cincy being interested in Arrington is complete BS.

I would love to have a player with his talent, but the contract demands (15+ million in bonuses) are beyond excessive IMO.

I just wanted to take moment to point out that Arrington is definitely a 'team guy'. This is a funny - I saw him on the show "Trading Spaces". It's a fairy home decorating show(hey the wife watches football with me - I watch corny design shows).

Well they all took time to go and visit the Redsins practice facility. The host of the show wore a giants jersey - big mistake. Arrington ripped the jersey off of the host, dragging him at least 25-30 yards in the process. The hosts compadres tried to defend him and one wound up with a sprained ankle, the rest showed off their bruises and raspberries on camera.

Has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not he can help our team(I think he can) - just had to share.

He would be nice but we dont need him.

    Williams-oelhoffen-robertson-ellis

Now that would be a scary dline.

In a 3-4 oelhoffen-robertson-ellis with williams as a olb lineed up close to the dline, it would look like a 4-3 anyway. Still a heck of a dline.

I'd love Arrington I think he'd be great in the 3-4 and if we have the ability to get him we should I don't think his attitude problem is as bad as its made out to be. I would get an Arrington jersey and he can replace the #56. Haha
