People are knocking Leinart because of his arm strength but if we do get a guy with a cannon for an arm whos he going to throw it too? Coles was never a real deep threat. Our TEs dont go deep MAYBE Cotchery or now Dwight, but its not like we have Santana or Randy Moss or steve smith type receivers who get downfield. I think Leinarts arm strength would be perfect for the Jets.

...you can't make that judgement by who is currently on the roster, we could get a burner in the draft or FA this season or one of the next 10+ years the guy could play,...you can see how defenses played against Chad, because of the lack of respect for his arm....do you want that again???

For frigs sakes the Jets will not be getting Leinart...stop living in dreamland and come back to reality. These Leinart posts are starting to get on my tits.

The Jets have 3 qb's now, and a stack of holes to fill in other places. They will not be trading up to get Leinart.

Why do people think, because a QB has a strong arm he will only throw deep?

What if guys are blitzing and he has a one second window to throw? He can get it there quick vs a lesser arm it would be intercepted or deflected.

Well first of all Leinarts arm strength is greater then Penningtons. And lets not get on the we need a QB with great arm strength. Why? Did we not win with Chad? Yea last I checked we did and the only reason we are in this situation is because Chad has had TWO rotator cuff surgeries, nothing to do with his skill and results when he is playing. I can understand if Chads lack of arm strength made us a bad team but it didn't. Lets not forget that.

The Jets have 2 backup QB's and a starter who might be on injured reserve all year? Rather the posts get on your tits than the Jets front office give the entire fan base a titty twister on draft day. Ouch!

Last I looked the Jets SB case has 1 in it and it was won by a guy with a cannon and quick release.

So thats the only way to win a sb? Then last I looked Leinart has a national championship ring. And a heisman trophy With his arm. So where do we go from here?

you most not read the post on this board when are you gonna realize ramsey is only here for 1 year. the only reason we even traded for him was because chad is the biggest question mark in the nfl right now.. He may not even play this year. brooks is a 3rd string qb at best your not building ur team around brooks. Rookie qb = starter next year after ramsey is gone. at this point your the only one in dreamland if your 100% banking on chad will be fully healthy come training camp.

You know how many great College QB's are outright bust in the NFL. Ken Dorsey was as good in College as Leinart and Andre Ware was better.

agreed thats why the draft is a gamble.. no such thing as a sure thing. but leinart has a stronger arm than brees, and pennington who both has had success in this league.

That's exactly right. We need a QB and this is really going to come down to evaluating all 3 QB's and if one stands out head and shoulders above the other 2 and has all the tools necessary to compete at the next level than maybe you trade up and make the move. There isn't a person on this board who can properly evaluate any of the three guys at the next level. Being into college football doesn't make you an expert on translating tools to the NFL level. We are all speculating which is fine but that's all it is.

If you're going to draft a QB in the top 5 who is an intangibles QB not a tools QB, you better make dam sure that their isn't a sleeper that you can get in a later round with the same intangibles. That's why the Pats have won 3 SB.

So your saying take the best qb I dont think there is better QB out there then Leinart. Im tired of the Pats comparisons too. They got Brady in the 6th rd so what? There was alot of luck involved in that, it was'nt a formula. If Mo Lewis neved KO'd Bledsoe who knows what woulda happened.

Noone under centre will be healthy with the gaps we have there....Getting Leinart by trading up would be like throwing a lamb to the slaughter; and he has already done his rotator cuff just like Pennington. The last thing we need is two players on the same roster in the same position, let alone the most important position, that have the same injury doubts. That is courting disaster.

I think Vince Young is the guy to take. You know what I'm probably just as right as you in evaluating the 3 QB's that's why this is a call I will trust to the Jets management. They probably can make the evaluation better than either of us.

Thats because we had a real good oline something we dont have now.

Lets see pennington and favre we can both match their intelligence as a QB, but its the arm strength that separates favre.

Certain throws favre can make that chad cant is why he is a superbowl champion.

You haver spoken the truth! Too many want to forget the fact that LEINART has a better arm and has faced better competetion then CHAD at a similar stage of their careers!

You can also say leinart had real good or elite players on his team in college.
