The defense has been getting all the credit, but lets take a look at the offense. Jets offense is 8th in yards per game and 8th in scoring. If Folk makes one of his 3 missed field goals, they move up to 7th in scoring. Jets are first in the NFL in rushing. Fitzpatrick is on pace for 3,766 yards and 29 td passes. Ivory is on pace for 1,400 yards Marshall is on pace for 1,600 yards and 13 tds.
Yeah, it's an amazing turnaround so far. Fitzpatrick is also on pace for 22 Int's and he's going to have to cut that number down a bit somehow. No fumbles, so the overall turnover rate is manageable but for the Jets to be good they need Fitzpatrick to have a few games in January with no TO's and right now that's looking iffy.
Some of those turnovers have been fluky/great defensive plays - several have been poor decisions into tight coverage. Fortunately, none have been pick 6's. All in all, I think Ryan is doing a very good job, particularly in his performance in the red zone and in making quick decisions and getting rid of the football.
Every turnover sucks but Fitz's turnovers don't bother me that much. Seems that they don't come at the worst times and they don't kill productive drives. He's a smart guy so he's gonna be smart with the ball (oline has also been amazing in that aspect) and if he can keep away from turning it over in or near the red zone I'll have zero problem with 20 ints.
Fitz has to cut down his turnovers a bit. He can be frustrating when he's playing outside his ability. Other than that, I have no qualms with how the offense is playing. Its 1000x better than any expectation I had coming into the season.
