My buddy just called me saying that WFAN reported that the Jets and Eagles were close to a deal swapping 2nd round picks and Lito Shepard and DeWayne. Anyone else hear this? Am I in the dark on this? Any info would be almost as great as this deal.
Woah.. Get it done. That would be an amazing trade. We'd move back only about 13 spots. This sounds very similar to the Thomas Jones deal..
"Were" meaning it's ongoing? Or "Were" meaning it's died down? That'd be a pretty good deal IMO. We'd rid ourselves of a financial headache...get a former pro bowler to fill a huge need for us...and really only surrender about 10 picks in the 2nd round. I'd take that in a heartbeat.
Yes....this deal defenitly kills 2 birds with one stone. We free up the cap room from D-Rob, and shore up our Secondary at the same time...I hope they get this done. This would defenitly impact any decision to take a CB in the first 2 rounds of the draft.
We get this deal done..I think people get alot more comfortable w/ us taking a Best player available approach to the # 6 pick and the entire draft;Which is the best possible thing for this team. Lito and Revis would be a fast, athletic and physical CB Tandem. On a side note, i like D rob in Joe Johnson's schemes. I think he'd be a great fit in Philly. Could be a good deal for both teams.
then it would be we're, not were. This is robbery, DRob is garbage while Sheppard is a hell of a #2 when healthy. It would allow the draft to be a garnering of front 7 and offense picks, without having to deal with the question of a #2 CB. Revis and Sheppard won't be easy to throw on.
Wow..that would be an unbelievable deal. But Robertson is anything but garbage in a 4-3. Does Philly still play a 4-3? Of course Sheppard needs to stay healthy which he seems incapable of doing for it to be a good deal for the Jets.
This would be a great deal, for both teams. Question, before we start getting crazy. Has anyone else heard this? Or is P-10's friend yanking his chain?
probably our souls  I can only envision one roadblock that could derail this deal...and it's the same problem that the Jets have faced thru every D-Rob scenario with other teams....and that is "will D-Rob renegotiate his contract to facilitate the trade".....there's talk that he keeps balking at the notion of restructuring his contract. I really hope we make this trade....but I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet.
This would be incredible. I'm praying this happens. It's not a bad deal for Philly either, D-Rob is pretty damn good in the 4-3.
My "buddy"?? Although I don't post here all that often, know that I've been here since 2003. With that said, I wouldn't have posted it if my "buddy" sounded as if he was bullshitting me. Plus, if you read, you'd see that I was also asking if anyone else heard of this.
Hey I'm not saying you are intentionally spreading bull shit. I'm saying simply that if this was a real rumor a lot more places than the FAN would have it. They don't. Explain that. In fact I think they could be talking some kind of deal. I just don't necessarily think the terms would be as stated in your original post.
I don't think D-Rob is garbage, I think that's just they way we think of him because of how much we gave up for him. If he is put into position to succeed in a 4-3 scheme, I think he will succeed until his knees give out on him. He's an aggressive player who has trouble with double-teams. The Eagles can take a player like him in their scheme and get some of their money out of it. He's just a horrible fit for what they are doing in the Jets' schemes. In a heavy-blitzing scheme like the Eagles run, the pressure would be off of him.
