I notice we didn't have a "proper" series thread for the Phillies series this weekend so maybe that was the problem. Redding is pitching for the Nationals tonight and has been awful his last few times out going up against Lawrence who has been awful every time out. I guess giving Humber a spot start was out of the questions.
I will withold comment about how ridiculous I think it is to give the start to a 31-year-old who has been horrible four of the five times he's been given the ball, rather than to one of the supposed "crown jewels" of the farm system, in respect for the gut of a veteran of decades in the major leagues. Or maybe I won't.
The Mets should beat this pussy tonight. Tim Redding was emasculated in 2005 by George Steinbrenner. He had a goatee like Michael Turner's. It was probably a couple years worth of growth. Then he had to cut it all off for one spot start for the Yankees. What a queer. In that one start he managed to pitch a full inning. His ERA was 54.00.
That Mets record against teams with losing records(.689) versus teams with winning records(.471) doesn't inspire alot of confidence for the postseason.
really going from worse to bad here. again, this is just what the bullpen needed at the start of a 2+ week stretch of baseball, a starter not making it out of the 4th inning.
