OK, so I am joining this 10-team keeper league this year that is going to run a 4 round rookie draft before the main draft (all rookies can be carried forward to next season and beyond). Don't ask....it's complicated. Anyway, I need to come up with 40 rookies (I actually only need 35 for my draft position) for my draft board. I'm about 4 short. Here is who I have: 1) Ryan Matthews 2) Jahvid Best 3) Dez Bryant 4) CJ Spiller 5) Mike Williams (TB) 6) Sam Bradford 7) Jimmy Clauson 8) Jermaine Gresham 9) Demaryius Thomas 10) Tim Tebow 11) Golden Tate 12) Colt McCoy 13) Ben Tate 14) Montorio Hardesty 15) Dexter McCluster 16) Arrelious Benn 17) Rob Gronkowski 18) Aaron Hernandez 19) Mardy Gilyard 20) Eric Decker 21) Joe McKnight 22) Brandon LaFell 23) John Skelton 24) Toby Gerhart 25) Stephen Williams 26) Carlton Mitchell 27) Victor Cruz 28) Jeff Cumberland 29) Ed Dickson 30) Jimmy Graham 31) Johnathan Dwyer 32) Emmanuel Sanders If anyone has a few more names for me, that would be great. Also, if you see anyone listed in egregiously the wrong place on my list, please let me know. Thanks, DBJ
Hardesty needs to be downgraded because he is out for the year. Being that this is a keeper league, you still may want to draft him in the 4th round of the rookie draft. If your league has some sort of IR list, you can stash him there for the year. Ditto Ben Tate. other rookies to consider: Andre Roberts, WR, Cardinals- looked good when I saw him Anthony Dixon, RB, 49ers Terrence Austin, WR, Redskins
To be clear, the rookie team is basically a practice squad. All the players are not part of the main roster (18 players). If you activate someone from the practice squad they are treated like any other roster player and can't return to the practice team. That is why I have Tate and Hardesty rated so high. I can just stash them until next season. The only players that I think have any chance of getting activated and bumping a non-rookie from my roster are the guys in my top 12. I guess someone lower could flash, but I am not counting on it. Thanks for the names!
You may want to add Kielland Williams, I was never a fan of him at LSU but he appears to be making the Redskins and their running backs are so shitty he should see a solid amount of carries
Max Hall, QB, Arizona. With Leinart getting the boot, he's moved into the #2 spot behind Anderson and evidently ahead of Skelton.
In case you guys were curious.....this is who I ended up with in the rookie draft (6th pick overall): Mike Williams (TB) Jimmy Clauson Arrelious Benn Mardy Gilyard Not terrible. The main draft starts in a few minutes.
Williams is solid for #6. I know Mathews,Spiller,Bryant,Best went 1-4 in some order, but who was #5...Bradford?
