Jets working hard to bring in Aaron Stecker from Saints as reported by JetsInsider.Net. NO wants no less than a 5th rounder, have no interest in Derrick Strait.

Ugh. Bringing in Suggs was an upgrade over what we had.

    Set Duece Loose in NY

If they are looking to trade a back why not make a play for Duece?

He has been in the league for 7 years. His production numbers are horrible. He broke 1000 yards last year; that's aggregate lifetime, not for the year.

He was an undrafted pick up originally for the Bucs. If we give a 5th for him it would be stupid.

Saints | Stecker could miss up to two weeks
    Tue, 15 Aug 2006 00:32:36 -0700

Jimmy Smith, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints RB Aaron Stecker (ankle) could miss up to two weeks with a high ankle sprain, according to head coach Sean Payton.

God I hope this doesn't happen

I've heard that the Jets have called TEN about Travis Henry and ATL about TJ Duckett.

Where did you hear that? I could see Ten moving Henry (although I wouldn't be interested with all of his baggage) but Duckett would carry a hefty price tag which I'm not sure we are in the position of doing right now....

A-Steck could be the stop-gap back we need to get through 06' at a discount price. 2 week ankle sprain is not a deal breaker and actually puts us in the driver seat. Perhaps that is why we enquired now. Maybe he fits the Mangini Mold like a Tim Dwight. Can he block?

Isn't a high ankle sprain one of those goofey injuries (like "turf-toe") that can annoy and hinder a player for months at a time? They start thinking all's well, they play a week or two... they're out again for 3 weeks. They rehab again.... get better, play a bit, then out AGAIN for 2-3 weeks.

I would want Duece but he will cost a lot and will give the Saints a big cap hit. So it won't happen. But Duece will probably give us the best chance to win right now.

TJ would also be nice. We should have asked for TJ along with ATL's number first round pick for Abraham.
