http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...k-collins-former-packer-hints-at-nfl-comeback Since we are bare as can be at the FS position i think giving him a tryout couldn't hurt.. Before he hurt his neck he was a top FS in the game and giving him a shot could be a great boom or bust signing! I think its a good calculated gamble if he passes all his physicals.
Sign this beast! Our safties are the only reason we've given up huge passing plays over the past 5 years.
I'd be punching the air, doing backflips if we got him healthy. GB has never recovered on defense since losing him.
It would be a good project for Rex and if he is even a 80% of the player from 2011 it's still worth a look.
If he gets cleared by multiple doctors that he can play then yes. I don't wanna be the team that signs him and has him damage his neck and he is paralyzed.
Dude was one of the top safeties before he got badly hurt. If he is cleared that he can play I def would wanna give him a shot.
That would be the only situation where I'd want the Jets to sign him. Having him comeback on the Jets then seeing him becoming permanently paralyzed would be awful. I really don't think any team should clear this kid. I don't think spinal fusion is anything to screw around with. He needs to move on with his life and be thankful he has the health he does. It's not worth becoming permanently paralyzed or worse.
Green Bay's defense declined significantly after he left. I'd give him a shot if the doctors say it's alright.
Nick Collins had that huge pick 6 in the 2010 Superbowl, which was a big part of their win considering they won by 6.
