Yardage wise. Denver needed to give up 305, they gave up 388. Pitt needed to give up 107, they give up over 250.

So our beloved NYJets have the #1 defense in the NFL. And before people throw out the points, which is still low...The Jets offense/special teams have given up like 6 TDs with the D not touching the field.

Baffles me how the #1 D and #1 rushing offense can be 4-4.

Wow... the crazy thing is the D is just going to get better. This is year 1 of the Rex Ryan era. If our offense can not screw things up in the future we should be able to make runs at the Pats and Steelers for the SB. I think it's fairly safe to say you'll never see the ST kill us like they did in the Miami game.

Great teams win with D, think about. How many times do teams with explosive offenses rarely win the SB, hell the Saints didn't even make the playoffs last year and the Pats and Vikes both failed at winning the SB in their amazing seasons. Our D shut the Saints high powered offense own in a way nobody can even come close to repeating.

Actually the giants have the #1 defense technically, although the jets have played 1 less game, i think the thing that is unbelievable is that the jets have one of the best defenses in football right now and they have played well without kris jenkins the last 2 weeks. Now that's scary. It seems as if once rex left and took bart, leohnard, and douglass the ravens defense was gone. Maybe rex really was the key all along to that defense since he was there from the beginning.

Just imagaine if we found a pass rusher who was a threat to get to the qb on any given play.

I prey to God that this inspires our Boys to destroy all comers!!!!!!

Remember the Mantra "Typical Jets shit"

In a Ravens Game We lost giving up only 6 first downs- Typical Jets Shit!
We loose two QuarterBacks in back to back Plays -Tytpical Jets shit!
Vinny's Achiles Pops Right after Simms or some comentator say "If Vinny goes Down"-Typical Jets shit!
Curtis Martin goes for like 200-300 carries without a fumble and no sooner then the Anoucers relay that info Curtis fumbles-Typical Jets shit!

...I think you get the point!

Ok i agree with you.. I love my Jets.. and think our defense is really really good. BUT.. you can't just go and say we have the #1 DEF based on yards.. All those ST TDs we gave up.. are equivalent to 3-out 0 yrd drives. Our defense is good but obviously you need to take everything into account..

on another note.. until we start CONSISTENTLY putting up points directly off turnovers, we can still get better. A lot of ppl when they read #1 defense.. and then see our record think.. our offense blows.. nay nay.. our defense is solid.. but not to the point that they are generating points each and every game..

The Jets lead the Giants by 264 yards...

With 2 weeks to prepare...I'm going to bet Jacksonville doesn't rack up over 264.

Fine take the ST and defensive TDs the Jets have given up and the Points Against is still a measly 16.8.

    I'll take that...

Thats the main reason we drafted this guy and so far its pretty much blown up in our face. Maybe if were lucky we find a gem in the 2010 draft or maybe we already have a guy on our roster with some untapped potential.

The NYJ having the #1 defense and #1 run offense in the NFL tells you were losing in fucked up ways. The pessimism around these parts lately has been extremely exagerrated. The NYJ have been beating themselves, which is characteristic of an inexperienced team (particularly at QB and HC). There are good things ahead.

Best defense in the NFL and best Running attack in the NFL and yet where still 4-4 and playing like our usual shitty selves. Everything is kind of misleading.

So, big question, is the Ravens D still better than ours, and if so where is the evidence?
