http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/jetsb...?utm_medium=rss&utm_content= Jets Blog Interesting article. Looks like Bush is considered the favorite to win the job over Allen and Jarrett. That's what I like to hear. I've had high hopes for him since we drafted him last season. Looks like he's made good progress so far this year. I'm interested in following this to see who else will be named in the top 25. Anyone else notice the blatant error saying that Eric Smith was on the roster last year? That's the POST for ya.
I honestly do not trust either him or Allen back there. I say put Wilson back there with Landry, and have Cro and Milliner man the corners.
I'd rather keep Wilson in the slot, but he was decent last year on the outside. I think Milliner's a better candidate to cover the outsides along with Cro. The Jets need a young FS to develop, so we don't have to keep shuffling our safeties every year. I'm rooting for Bush. If he pans out, we'll be set in the secondary for a while.
Trufant/Berry/Walls... Most likely Trufant.. I'm worried Allen/Bush won't be able to cover these big ass tight ends... Wilson probably won't either but at least he has some experience..
Interesting, Tony Pauline on The Draft Insider had the Jets seriously looking at Bush in the months and weeks heading up to the draft--was certain the Jets were going to take him and he was right. Jets obviously were/are very high on him. He's one of the young guys I'm rooting for this year. Kind of weird because most draft publications/mocks had Antonio Allen going before him--some even late 3rd or early 4th and the fact that he went after Bush says something--not sure if that's good or bad. _
Wilson? At Safety? Yes, so we can lose every game to the slot and fourth receiver, like the Indy playoff game. Hell, I guess its good we dont face NE twice a yea....oh...nevermind. The hating on wilson as a CB is :drunk:
Wilson to safety has been mentioned on here by a few others before. Wilson seems to be at his best when the play is in front of him & when he can take angles.Safety would make alot of sense with his skillset. I'm not sure why Rex does not consider this. The Jets are very deep at corner & someone among Berry/Lankster/Trufant/Walls would surely step up in the slot. On the subject of Bush,he has impressive range & movement. Very smooth in coverage. The question will be if he has the ability to overcome being 5'11 against some of these bigger tight ends. That might limit him to being more of a deep pass/3rd down player.
Lol @ being concerned about Keller. If he's ever active for a game against us, just have Trufant tackle his shoelaces. Problem solved.
Lol at the fact that you really think that he's so injury prone. The guy never missed a practice before last season. Lets slow down on saying he's injury prone. Although Keller really isn't too much of a threat IMO. He's not a big TE, he's just a more athletic bigger body pass catcher.
Keller had to make a LOT of difficult grabs from poor passes. I have to credit him with that. He wasn't the best blocker, but he was a good solid receiver until he got hurt last year. I really wasn't a fan of letting him go, especially to the phins. If Tannehill steps it up this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see Keller have a career year. I'm just glad he didn't end up on the Pats or another team with an elite QB that we play.
I'm gonna keep this thread going. Here's #24: http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/jetsblog/jets_top_no_jeff_cumberland_9Ss9d6MnA5kYWvIgIfX7lO Cumberland is a wildcard this year for sure. The potential is there. I think as the year goes on we'll see more snaps for him and less for Winslow. Cumberland was already pretty big, but apparently he's more jacked up this year. Should be interesting. Hey mods, would you prefer me to keep these all together in the same thread or should I make a new one each day? I plan on updating this each day, so there will be 25 eventually. Perhaps we could adjust the title (take out bush) and keep them all consolidated.
Really like Cumberland as a #2. He's just a big target who moves well. Inconsistent & injury prone..which is why he'll never be paid as a #1. Good for the Jets.
http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/jetsblog/jets_top_no_joe_mcknight_8Rj4T36FCxgRcbgveb1ZfJ This is an interesting one. He dropped one spot from last year. McKnight is a a guy that can potentially bring a LOT in a pass heavy offense. Hopefully he won't get lost in the mix. I think at the very least he'll beat out Powell.
barring goodsons legal issues. i think mcknight is in trouble.he doesn't have tanny backing him now and idzick is vested in goodson. if its close it goes to goodson and i dont see mcknight blowing them away.
With the lack of quality WRs on the roster, it might make sense to keep Mcknight around solely for his playmaking ability. He's also a good returner. Goodson/Ivory/Powell/Mcknight are all useful parts for this offense. They should keep one less injury prone crappy receiver.
