any of you guys feel like we have a chance next week? I, for one, feel like we defiantly have a shot. as long as our D can put pressure on Peyton, and we can contain the passing game, i think we can shut down their sub-par running game. I also think that our passing game is good enough to put up some points. one big thing to look out for is how D'brick can contain the ever dangerous Freeney. any thoughts?
Of course we have a shot to pull out the upset. But we gotta put pressure on manning and be able to run the football. Everything has to go our way, and we can't have a slow start to the game.
we absolutely have a chance...freeney im pretty sure didnt play today, so who knows if he will be 100% for sunday...the secondary definatly needs to step up, when manning sees what jp loseman threw for today, his eyes will get wide
i think we can throw up points on these guys, but, were going to need to blitz a lot to put pressure on payton. looking foward to d'brick vs. freeney.
Mangini is going to need to replicate exactly he did with his defensive backs in New England. It confused the hell out of Manning. ManGenius will prepare for this game no doubt.
I would say its a longshot...but Any Given Sunday anything can happen I definitely give this team a better shot against the Bears and Jaguars of the world then I did at the beginning of the year.
i'm hoping we have a chance but i think its a longshot.. i have a feeling its going to be one of those games where we are down 21-0 before we know it.. however as anything can happen
I'll be there so I'm hoping for a win, but let's not kid ourselves here. They just beat a very good Jacksonville team and have the type of offense that can take advantage of our lack of pass rush. I'll never say we don't have a shot but we're going to really have to play a phenomenal game to keep it close.
This game is a much bigger challenge than today's. Hopefully the crowd can get into it. It is possible for Manning and the Colts to be 2-0 at Giants Stadium, while the Jets and Giants would be 0-3.
Mangini is the X-factor He's schemed against Manning in the biggest of games- attacking the 3/4 has been Manning's biggest weakness in his career (SD, Pittsburgh, especially NE) We'll see.
I'm still enjoying todays win. I think we have a shot next week. We'll have to pass a lot more than we run, but I think we should have Cedric get the start. And of course we have to play great D as we go up against "Almighty" Peyton Manning.
We do not have nearly the personnel those 3 teams have, no great NT(Wilfork,Hampton,Williams), no great OLB pass-rusher(Porter,Merriman,Colvin). The Jets are transitioning and clearly have had trouble thus far...They're going to need another good draft next season, adressing a pass-rushing OLB and a NT, unless Mangini thinks Moore can provide that(He'd be cheaper as well and would let us focus in on drafting an OLineman!) and the Jets will be getting Pouha back. Again, the Jets don't have half the personnel those 3-4 teams have...So don't expect to shut down Peyton like those 3 teams have.
I actually disagree with you there. I think we should try to establish a running game next week and that is really the only chance we have. Without the running game they are going to have no problem shutting down most of our passing. Plus the running game takes time off the clock and the ball out of manning's hands.
Its at home, but were not going to out pass them. If we have a running game, we will be competiting if not-theres no shot
but we do match up well vs. them. Our strength on D is our secondary and our weakness is our running D and there weakness is their running game. So we do match up quite nicely.
You must be kidding. Our passing offense has been sick these 1st 3 weeks(the wind affect it some today). The Colts pass defense is very average and their awesome safety Sanders is out. Chad will have no problem passing against this team. I think he might even have a career day.
