What a king sized DICK Parcells is.. He is really putting Dallas in a bad spot taking 3 weeks to make this decision while all the best HC prospects are signed to other teams. I hate the Tuna..

Bill Parcells has retired Monday, according to a press release from the team.
"I am retiring from coaching football," Parcells said in a statment. "I want to thank Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones for their tremendous support over the last four years." More to come on this shortly.

My guess is that he told Jerry Jones to get rid of TO and Jones refused.

That is a good point and very well might be the cae. If it is than Jerry Jones gets what he deserves..

Hmm. I don't know what this does to the talk of him going to the Giants after Coughlin is done. But let's face it, Bill isn't what he used to be.

The guy Jerry Jones was targeting IF Parcells retired was Chargers defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

    Parcells to retire

    http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/DAL/9947249

Parcells retiring after four seasons in Dallas

Statement from Cowboys coach Bill Parcells

"I am retiring from coaching football. I want to thank Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones for their tremendous support over the last four years. Also, the players, my coaching staff and others in the support group who have done so much to help. Dallas is a great city and the Cowboys are an integral part of it. I am hopeful that they are able to go forward from here.

"I am in good health and feel lucky to have been able to coach in the NFL for an extended period of time. I leave the game and the NFL with nothing but good feelings and gratitude to all the players, coaches and other people that have assisted me in that regard."

Not surprised. His team's collapse at the end, drained all the life out of him. I also think that Jones refused to get rid of TO and that had to have had a big impact as well.

I heard rumors on the radio he was sniffin around the Giants GM job, but they weren't interested...neither would I be if he had anything to do with contracts...he is a great talent evaluator and coach, but horrible money man. As a jerseyite, its always sad to see the tuna leave football, even if it never lasts.

Hey lets play a game...Where does the tuna end up next?

-you know all it takes is the right price and no TO.

Thank god. I was so sick of his conservative bullshit and garbage ruining of the roster. I hope they go for a Mike Martz type, someone who will open up the offense. Fuck you Parcells, I'm glad you're gone.

I love Bill Parcells. I really enjoyed watching him as a head coach.

He transformed my favorite team right in front of my eyes.

    From a 1996 team who went 1-15,

    to a 1997 team who went 9-7,

to a 1998 team who went 12-4, won the AFC East, and lost the AFC title game.

He will be missed by me atleast. Hopefully he can join ESPN or NFL Network.
