Are we on the hook for the $3 M bonus if we decide to cut him on June 1?

If so, it makes sense to just take the hit over one year and not add 3 M more to the Cap

Why would anyone schedule a bonus due in March? If you cut him then, you're tipping your hand a bit before the draft and forcing yourself to make an early decision. More Bradway incompetence.

Almost every team schedules Roster/Option bonuses in March. Usually they are due on the first day of the League Year, which is March 3rd.

It's actually a trick done by agents much more than the team. If it was up to the team, they would be due in June. The players want the team to make a commitment to them by the beginning of March, so if they ARE cut, they are available when all the "money" is in free agency.
