    After the chiefs win, this is not looking good for the jets.

    Wildcard Competitors

    Denver 7-4
    Seattle
    @SD
    @Arizona
    Cinci
    SF

    KC 7-4
    @Cle
    Baltimore
    @SD
    @Oak
    Jax

    Jax 6-4
    @Buff
    @MIA
    Indi
    @Tenn
    NE
    @KC

    Cinci 5-5
    @Cle
    Baltimore
    Oak
    @Indi
    @Denver
    Pitt

    NYJ 5-5
    Houston
    @GB
    Buff
    @Minn
    @MIA
    Oak

    Breakdown:
    I see Denver beating Seattle, Arizona, & SF and losing to Cinci & SD. Final Record: 10-6, possibly 9-7 (seattle) or 11-5 (cinci)

    I see KC beating Cle & Oak and losing to Baltimore, SD, & Jax. Final Record: 9-7, possibly 10-6 (jax)

    I see Jax beating Buffalo, MIA, Tenn, NE, & KC and losing to Indi. Final Record: 11-5, possibly 10-6 or 9-7 (NE, KC)

    I see Cinci beating Cle, Oak, Pitt, & Denver and losing to Baltimore and Indi. Final Record: 9-7, possibly 8-8 (Denver)

    I see NYJ beating all the remaining opponents IF the D continues to play strong, and chad gets back to how he played early in the year. Final record: 11-5, possibly 10-6 or 9-7(Houston, MIA)

    That would look like this for the wildcard race.
    Jax 11-5
    Jets 11-5
    Den 10-6
    Cinci 9-7
    KC 9-7

    This means that the jets have NO room for error in these last 6 games. They pretty much have to win out. I'm really, really hoping that they can consitently beat bad teams, we'll soon see. If the jets slip up just once, they may be watching the playoffs from home. KC also scares me now, same with Jax. But one thing is for sure, now both WC spots are wide open.

    Jacksonville is 1-3 on the road. It would really surprise me if they make the playoffs with their upcoming schedule. They won't beat the Chiefs.

    Remember, in the event of a 3-way tie for the 6th playoff spot between the Jaguars, Jets, and Chiefs:

    the Chiefs had better beat Jacksonville in Week 17 or Jacksonville wins the tiebreaker

    Denver is going with Cutler from now on.

    Add some growing pains and I see them at 9-7.

    I think things will really clear up in 3 weeks. Jets play their easiest stretch, and if they want to remain in the hunt will go 3-0 to raise their record to 8-5.
    Jax plays at miami, at buffalo and colts, and they could go 2-1 or 1-2 in that stretch leaving them at 8-5 or 7-6. KC play at cleveland and baltimore, and I think they could go 1-1 to be at 8-5.

    i think our realistic goal should be to have caught up with KC and Jax in the next three weeks and then take it from there.

    I really think KC will go 9-7....but Herm will be Herm and they will lose to the Raiders and go 8-8

    We are going to have to win out to make it...
    If there is a 4 way 10-6 tie we are out right?

    Jets/Chiefs/Broncos/Jags
    Only 2 gets in.

    Jets could go 9-7 and make it.

    4-way tie? Depends on who the four teams are and what they do here on out in certain games.

    well, Jax owns the tie-breaker over us since they won the head-to-head match-up.

    as far as KC goes, i'm not sure. but they're 7-4 and we're 5-5. i mean, we're in danger of getting passed by Cincy; so don't get your hopes up.

    cheers

    If you really think the Jets are winning out or going 5-1, you are nuts. This team is not that good. The defense still has no pass rush and can't stop the run and the offense has no running game and a slumping QB. I see the Jets winning their three home games, but the road games - GB, Minn, and Mia are going to be tough. I think the best that can be hoped for is 4-2 and 9-7 with 3-3 and 8-8 a real possiblity and 10-6 a long shot with an exectped win at Minny or Miami.

    That means you are rooting for the Jets to lose while they are in the middle of a playoff push with a first year coach and a young team. Great fan support. I hope anything happens that makes you root for another team.

    No pass rush?! Have you been watching the jets lately? Ever since the end of the Cle game, we have had a pass rush.

    They are much improved also as far as stopping the run goes, the D gets better every week.

    No running game?! Again, have you been watching the games? Our running game has been here ever since the Jax game. Leon + Cedric = dominance

    Yes chad is slumping, lets hope he rebounds.

    I think you guys are a few weeks early with this scoreboard watching stuff. Let the Jets win these next two games and then we can bother with this.

    Don't make yourself nuts watching the other games.

    Look at these standings:
    Giants 7-4
    Eagles 6-5

    Bears 9-2
    Vikings 7-4

    Saints 8-3
    Rams 7-4
    49ers 6-5

    The season was 1988.
    Only 5 teams from each conference qualified for postseason play that year.

    After 11 games, the 49ers were in trouble.

    At the end of the season they were Super Bowl champions.

    The final regular season records were:
    Eagles 10-6
    Giants 10-6 (did not make playoffs)

    Bears 12-4
    Vikings 11-5 (had 4-game stretch late in year where they did not allow a touchdown)

    49ers 10-6
    Rams 10-6
    Saints 10-6 (did not make playoffs)

    The point of this post is not that the Jets will be like the 1988 49ers and go on to win the Super Bowl. Rather, this is to show that scoreboard watching in November is overrated.

    You know what? I dont give a fuck about playoffs...
    I mean whats the difference between missing out by one win or getting beat in the first round?

    You could say experience to the players, but i think the draft pick being three places higher is a better

    In the last three games the Jets have given up 125 yards on the ground to Droughns (Cleveland), 98 to Dillon (New England), and 121 to Jones (Chicago). In those same 3 games Neon Leon has 51, 35, and 22 yards rushing, respectively. In fact, I clearly recall you noting how bad Washington has looked in the last two game threads. Houston had 50 yards rushing in his first game back (yes, I know it was Chicago, but you were the one who used the word "dominance"). You call that dominanace? For all we know, the rest of the league has figured out Washington, since the trend doesn't look good.

    Houston's offense and defense are both in the bottom third of the league. If the Jets can't get 325+ yards of offense against this team, you might have take those green-colored glasses off.

    How can you call yourself a fan if you don't want your team in the playoffs? What makes you so sure the jets would be one and done in the first place? The jets beat NE in NE, who says the jets can't beat another team of similiar ability in the first round to move on?

    Anything can happen in the playoffs, look at the steelers last year. But first we gotta get there.

    There is a big difference... its a thrill to watch your team in the playoffs.. theres always the feeling that they could go on a run.. its much better than 3 draft spots

    Just watch this week how well leon will run. I noted how bad he looked in the last game. He looked fine against NE, he only had 35 yds due to only getting 9 carries. He did struggle last week, but that was his first bad game, and it was against the Bears. And consitently running him out of the shotgun didn't help.

    I'll root for a strong finish, but this team will get murdered if we miraculously make the postseason.
