If Mariota wins the Heisman, which he should, please dont perpetuate the illogical BS that no Heisman has ever been a great NFL player. It's nonsense, bullshit, illogical and quite frankly a red herring. Had Luck or Manning won a Heisman, this silly stance would be forever gone. At some point a Heisman winner will be a great pro. Winning a Heisman is not causation for being a bad pro. Let's be smarter than that. Even TGG. _
So you want the next Tebow But seriously, I've never understood this. Isn't the award for the best college player? So how come the winner is almost never drafted early?
I like how you make a thread that try's to goad people into agreeing with you. You must be tired of name calling for a night.
Just because I have to say something against Mariota and his cheerleader, Stokes--- I think Melvin Gordon should win it. But because Stokes isn't wrong on his point, I'm certain Gordon will go on to be a great NFL player.
There have been many great or at least very good NFL players to get the award. There are a few names that immediately come to me. I am damned sure I missed a whole bunch too! Alan Ameche, Roger Staubach, Mike Garrett, OJ Simpson, Jim Plunket, Tony Dorsett, Earl Campbell, Marcus Allen, Bo Jackson, Vinny Testaverde, Barry Sanders, Reggie Bush......
wait, since when have there been no great nfl players who won a Heisman?? lets be smart here, there are NFL HOF players who have won in the past.....why name players who are great and haven't won when you can name superstars that have won in the past?? Thread fail!!!
Staubach and Plunkett both won the Heisman and a SB so not sure where the issue is, usually these type connections are just made by bad reporters that have nothing better to write about.
If Mariota wins the award, we should definitely trade down and pick Hundley in the second. No Heisman winning QB has been good in the NFL for the last 20 years or so.
