i'm not very familiar with how the practice squad works, so excuse me if this is a stupid question. Do we get any type of compensation for the Giants signing Titus Adams from our practice squad?
No compensation because they signed him to their active roster. They could not just grab him and put him on their practice squad, that would be against the rules. From the CBA, Section 2. Signing With Other Clubs: Any player under contract to a Club as a practice squad player shall be completely free to negotiate and sign a Player Contract with any Club at any time during the League Year, to serve as a player on any Club?s Active or Inactive List, and any Club is completely free to negotiate and sign such a Player Contract with such player, without penalty or restriction, including, but not limited to, Draft Choice Compensation between Clubs or First Refusal Rights of any kind, or any signing period, except that such player shall not be permitted to sign a Player Contract with another Club to serve as a practice squad player while under contract as a practice squad player.
Second time in a couple of years the Giants have been fishing the Jets practice squad. They signed Derrick Ward a year or two ago, and now he's their kick returner. I liked Ward in TC a couple of summers ago. Mangini said in his press conference that they thought about bringing Adams up to the 53-man roster to block the Giants' move, but they wanted the flexibility to use their open spot with a pickup later this year.
They moved Wallace Wright up to replace Dwight. They must like Sloan Thomas though since they brought him back.
