Here are my early projections for who makes the cut this season (Alphabetical by Position):

    QB (3)
    • Erik Ainge
    • Kellen Clemens
    • Brett Favre

    RB/FB (5)
    • Jesse Chatman
    • Thomas Jones
    • Tony Richardson
    • Musa Smith
    • Leon Washington

    WR (6)
    • Laveranues Coles
    • Jerricho Cotchery
    • Marcus Henry
    • Brad Smith
    • Chansi Stuckey
    • Wallace Wright

    TE (4)
    • Chris Baker
    • James Dearth (Special Teams LS)
    • Bubba Franks
    • Dustin Keller

    OL (8)
    • Jacob Bender
    • Alan Faneca
    • D'Brickashaw Ferguson
    • Nick Mangold
    • Will Montgomery
    • Brandon Moore
    • Robert Turner
    • Damien Woody

    DE (3)
    • Kenyon Coleman
    • Mike DeVito
    • Shaun Ellis

    NT (3)
    • Kris Jenkins
    • C.J. Mosley
    • Sione Pouha

    LB (8)
    • Eric Barton
    • David Bowens
    • Matt Chatham
    • Vernon Gholston
    • David Harris
    • Brad Kassell
    • Calvin Pace
    • Bryan Thomas

    CB/DB (7)
    • David Barrett*
    • Drew Coleman
    • Dwight Lowery
    • Justin Miller
    • Hank Poteat
    • James Ihedigbo
    • Darrelle Revis

    S (4)
    • Abram Elam
    • Kerry Rhodes
    • Eric Smith
    • Cameron Worrell

    K (1)
    • Mike Nugent

    P (1)
    • Ben Graham

    Practice Squad (8)
    QB - Brett Ratliff
    RB - Jehuu Caulcrick
    WR - David Clowney
    OL - Nate Garner
    DE - Ropati Pitoitua
    DT - Thomas Johnson
    LB - Jason Trusnik
    CB/DB - Ahmad Caroll

*I believe with releasing/trading Chad we should have around $13 million in cap space, enough to absorb Favre. If we do not, it is likely that Barrett becomes a cap casualty for his $3.6 million in saved cap space.

Let me know what you think.

Well it seems like he's shut his mouth now and will play hard this season to earn a new contract from the Jets or from a new team next season via Trade or FA if released.

I think Baker is more of a lock to make the team now than before we signed Favre.

I doubt they will keep 5 running backs. Chatman or Smith is OUT.

I wish we could keep both. You can never have enough bruisers in your stable when you are trying to soften up the opposing front 7. But my bet is we do keep Caulcrick and Chatman. Smith is out.

I like the fact that you kept Caulcrick (39), Clowney (17) and Carroll (42) on the practice squad. Wish we had room for David Ball (18) there too.

I overlooked that  Well he's definitely not making the team. That leaves the last PS spot up for grabs in my book for the time being.

    Who?

I'd try to figure out a way to get Clowney and Carroll on the 53 man roster.

As a new Jets fan, well familiar with the former Packer Ahmad Carroll, let me say that I hope he is gone ASAP.

I'm going to watch the Jets all year and I've seen enough of Grabby Smurf to last a lifetime.

No Pociask? I'd expect him on the PS.

very interesting and well done. Although doubtful,I hope Clowney makes it over Brad Cement Hands, and Jason P. makes it over Baker. Now that Favre's there, Baker will really have an audience around to whine to, and let's lose the distraction.

I like it but we need 1 less RB, 1 more DE, and 1 less DB/S, and 1 more WR maybe...

yeah...i echo the sentiments over Clowney....I hope he makes it over Brad Smith and Wallace Wright.

Now that we have Favre behind center...we need wideouts that can run the 'Go route' with some afterburners. :)
