Folks, if today was a tough go for our defense, next week might be a massacre. This Jets secondary has some major work ahead and the DCs needs to seriously consider some deep soul searching and creative play calling to avoid a total blood bath. Luck will have it, I am heading to NY next week with my family and scheduled to go to the Jets game against the Bills. First time in three years to go back and hope and pray we put our big boy pants on for this one. If this Sunday night game against the Ravens is a preview of the Bills offense, we must prepare ourselves for a blood bath unless our secondary finds religion somewhere. IMO, no matter how well our O plays, will be futile unless the D gets exponentially better. Mods. Sorry to open a new threat, please combine with the Bills/Jets thread when created. Go Jets
Yeah Josh Allen coming off a emotional comeback win vs a awful secondary what can go wrong? 41 points on a John Harbaugh Defense what will he do against our defense? The only thing we got working in our favor is that Allen has been historically bad against the Jets, but a defense that let Aaron Rodgers light them up who knows?
Bright side: because the Bills won a thriller, we have a 25% chance of winning. If the Bills had lost, it would be 10%.
Wilks has his work cut out for him definitely. After watching Rodgers shred our zone like an overripe banana, Allen I'm sure is looking forward to having BBQ Stephens with a side of Adams. The offense will be fine as the Bills' defense can be run on and that's gonna be how we attempt to stay in this game. Again, we're going up against an elite AFC powerhouse so can just we accept we're not in their class YET?
Allen’s big plays are off schedule. Ravens dline looked terrible. He just ran a round all second half
I’m not saying the Jets will win but the Bills most likely come down a little ….there’s usually a slight letdown for a road divisional game coming off of a hyped primetime matchup such as that one. Most likely the Jets fall a little short again…
Along those lines, Adam’s looked lost out there, almost a liability in this scheme. Do you guys see it that way? Also Stephen’s drop on that interception was a killer, and would have sealed the game for us. I thought we played more zone but Coach Glen said we played a lot of man coverage. I expect to see more of Moore instead of Adam soon and a new punt returner this week.
I'm no expert, but Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers are very different types of QBs. Maybe the Jets match up better against Allen than Rodgers.
Neither am I, but it seemed whatever schemed we played had one target wide open almost always. According to AG we played man to man a lot, I thought the opposite.
I thought most of the big plays against us were missed assignments in our secondary. Wilks has to get the safeties and cbacks together in a room and hammer things out PDQ or we're on our way to a top 5 pick. His zone scheme needs work OR needs more time to jell. Either way, it's a liability at the moment with the personnel he has on hand.
It will probably be more of the same against Buffalo. They will turn the Jets over 2 or 3 times, draw some killer personal fouls, especially when the Jets try to hit or touch Josh Allen. Allen will have 2 tush push touchdowns and throw at least 1 up to that tall wideout who will bully the corner opposite Sauce Gardner for a touchdown. Bills cover the 8.5 spread easy
Yep, this game is going to be a blow out. Steelers are mid at best and they hung 34 on us. Josh Allen is going to have a field day.
I feel the Jets will be in it. Why wouldn't they after they played so well against the Steelers and they know Buffalo better, the Jets are home? It should be another exciting close game. Can they clinch the W in the fourth quarter this time is the question on my mind going into this one.
Jets/Bills at MetLife has been played within 1 score in 5 out of the past 6 years. That includes the 2-14 Adam Gase year. The only one we lost badly was the Mike White 2021 game when he got hurt the week before and then couldn’t stop throwing interceptions. All signs point to a blowout of course with how Buffalo is cooking but I feel like every year games like this remind fans how hard it is to go on the road and win.
Bills defense looked pretty suspect yesterday, especially against the run. Jets might be a Temu version of the Ravens, but there is definitely a path to victory here.
Problem with Allen is not only has he have a rocket for a arm, but he can run, and is hard to take down, just like Big Ben was.
Watching the Bills Ravens game, in the 4th quarter I wanted the Bills to come back. We'll get them in a let down trap game. Had they lost that game, we'd have zero chance.
