What up guys great win yesterday and a awesome team effort it was a sick game to watch.

But I just have a quick question. After Schlegel made that play on special teams with that onside kick it showed Westhoff talking to him for quite some time. I was watching the game in mute in a bar and couldnt make out what the announcers were saying.

Is he going to go in the dog house, what do you guys think?

The Onside kick was a freak thing, you have a big bulky Lber trying to field a kick, I don't think they were ready for that one, and the block in the back, meh, i dont know........

He'll be a great special teamer as long as he learns from mistakes like these. I think he'll be on the field this Sunday.

Overall, I was surprised the Jets weren't ready for the onsides kick their. The Packers just put up 10 points and had a little momentum. I thought it was a no-brainer that they would attempt the onsides.

i cant wait until someone says that the onside kick was shlegels fault, because theyre dead wrong. i dont know why westhoff was so mad.. if it was anybodys fault it would be him for not having them ready.

now the block in the back... that was a bad play. the defender was somewhat already out of the play. just leave him be.

i think hell still be on special teams.

Yeah, we should've had the "hands" team on the field anyway.

They didn't seem ticked off at him after the on sides kick, it was after the clipping penalty.

oh nevermind i thought it was the other way around.

in that case i still think hell be on special teams, because it was only one bonehead play.

I agree. Westy should have at least anticipated an OSK. Moreso than a rookie LBer.

I disagree. You have to have the presence of mind to know whether it has gone 10 yards or not. Also, what did he think he was going to catch it by jumping over the back of someone? For someone praised for his intellect, it was a pretty boneheaded play and if that is all he has going for him, he might be out of here faster than I originally thought. The block in the back was a clear penalty, which shows even more stupidity, even if you want to mask it as excitement.

Both times onside kicks have been tried against the Jets this year, we lost possession on both. Guess we need more work on that huh?

yeah.... Westoff has to get a little more anticipatory on his coverage calls. No way is Schlegel part of the "hands" team.

Packers went 3 and out and Shlegal fouled on the punt return. Gutsy run by Poteat called back.

I can't believe you have Juliana Theory in your sig. Used to love that band, but wow they got crappy before they broke up and went to emo heaven.

Ok, the guy he hit was standing on the Jets side of the 40 (go back and look at his feet on the numerous replays. If Schlegel does nothing the guy recovers it for Green Bay at about the 41. Schlegel was not trying to catch the ball. He stated and it seems obvious that he was going in to hit the guy into the ball or so that he couldnt recover it (which by the way, he didnt). His hand shouldnt have been outside the guy is all. It was a fluke that his hand hit it.

The play was both the correct play and done with quickness, clear thinking and athleticism. The technique was wrong, but nothing else.

The block in the back was poor judgement and an attempt to do too much. He stated that he was going for a knock down block (something for which the players are rewarded) and he should have gone for a sheild block instead. He didnt get his head in front and that made it an easy call for the refs.

Ambrose..good call, it was obvious he was just trying to keep the packers player from recovering the ball and falling over the 40. He thought, as did i that the GB player was going to touch the ball and fall over the 40, he went up quickly to smash him back so there wouldve been a penalty called on GB. It was actually a pretty heads up play except that the ball bounce a wrong.

    Exactly.

And, if another Jet player had recovered the ball after Schlegel hit it then no one would be on this board criticizing Schlegel. Schlegel made the right play and did it quickly. Unfortunately the ball bounced badly and the Jets didnt recover it.

Good call, exactly what I thought.

Somebody mentioned yesterday that 3 and out after the OSK and how big that pass breakup by Barrett was. I also couldn't agree more with that, stuffed any momentum they were building....
