Geno. He's younger and clearly our offense wasn't gonna do anything regardless of who we put at Qb. Vick is gone after this season; Geno is still arguably salvageable.
I say give Vick a full week of reps with our scrub "receivers" and a full game start. He hasn't been good for about 4 years but still will be better than Geno.
The dude was 3-13 before his last garbage time drive. He's been in the NFL for over a decade. It's not like he's new to the NFL. He should be playing better but he doesn't cause he sucks.
Let him start the game. I'm as big a geno supporter there is but something needs to change. Vick starts. Let's see him work with decker on a full week of practice. If he sucks so what. Geno can play.
I don't think we can put Geno out there next week. He needs some time off to get his confidence back. What bothered me about Geno was not poor play but happy feet in the pocket. He has fear in his head right now and is panicking. Maybe not anywhere near the kind of happy feet that Sanchez had but you cannot put a QB out there when he is scared and just getting beat up. It is not an enviorment where he can progress and become a better QB. Sit him a week or two and allow him to regroup and learn and maybe he will be ready to stand in the pocket and become a better QB by the time we play NE or Pitt. The biggest problem is we need to find a way to protect the QB. This year has quickly become last year where the QB is getting killed all day long. By my count Geno had 12 throws of which 5 were intentional throwaways to avoid sacks, 1 INt on the hail mary at the half. No QB can play under these conditions. But a young QB will break down and become much worse and that is what is happening. He has lost all confidence and is just running scared. Time to sit him. Give Vick a week to practice with the starters and go back to Geno against NE or Pitt if it does not work out. If Geno can pull himself together great. But if he cannot rebound under adversity and improve then its more evidence he is not the long term answer.
I'd start Mike Vick. He was rusty but I think he's harder to prepare for than Geno. If you asked Denver the guy they least want to play against is Vick.
I can't call it but I'm leaning towards Geno simply because Vick didn't do enough to get the start next week.
give vick a week of practice and the start. if he blows for a half put geno back in and evaluate him. doesn't really matter though the broncos are going to light is up
