Let me prefix this posting with a statement. ?CP is without a drought done a great job for us this year.

With that said, I don?t believe CP is the ANSWER. The dink and dunk game will only bring us to respectability. We need a QB with much more velocity then Chad. Now that our OL has a year of experience it?s time to think about our future QB. I think the answer is on the roster. No, I?m not thinking of Clemens. I think that Brad Smith might be the guy. BS holds the passing records at Missouri. He completed over 57% of his passes for over 6400 yards in just three years as a starter. The guy is 6?2? and weighs 210. Additional to his passing skills BS is also mobile. I think he should be given a chance to unseat CP next year. What are your thoughts?:jets:

Brad Smith is not the guy... At WR maybe, QB no.

By the way, if we gave Chad a gallon of water, would his "drought" be over?

If he wasn't good enough to even be part of a 4 man competition that included the likes of Brooks Bollinger and Patrick Ramsey this year, what makes you think he could beat out Pennington next year?

No, it's not. This is the time to have faith in our current QB since we are in the middle of a playoff push. It doesn't even make sense to think about it now in terms of drafting since you claim the "future QB" is already on our roster.

My thoughts are that the originator of this post requires a sobriety test and that he or she will probably blow a 1.2, well over the legal limit.

But be that as it may, Brad Smith might be considered or given the chance to unseat Chad next year, but it ain't gonna happen. I like Smith, don't get me wrong. And I like the fact that he can throw the ball and perform all sorts of athletic wonders. But Clemens will be the man behind Chad and the way things are looking, Chad will probably get the nod next year too. We have to see how he does under the lights on Christmas day.

Lets get real. If Brad Smith has a chance to be a real NFL QB, Mangini will certainly recognize that.

Fortunately the playoffs run through a dome and San Diego this year. I don't think we'll face a cold weather team until the AFC Championship game, and even then I am not so sure of that. Besides, we already beat the Patriots, so beating them again is no big deal. Does anybody know how cold Baltimore gets about a month from now?

If Mangini wont let Brad Smith pass one ball all season from the amount of snaps hes gotten i dont think Mangini sees him as being a QB for the JETS

  9. Must every new thread be about the QB position and his arm strength? There are 10 otherpositions to discuss on offense alone!

Smith is an intruiging idea at QB, but in my opinion no. I totally agree though that Chad should start the rest of the way this year, and then we need someone else next year. Chad does not any zip and has played VERY poorly against good defenses. My vote is Clemens next year and a 1st round pick used on a RB. With a QB with an arm and a top flight RB we's really be tough. We've really worked magic with smoke and miorrors which is a tribute to the coaching stff--Imagine what'd they'd with some skill players at RB and QB.

if all of the Chad must go, Chad mus be replaced, what we need at QB, and lets draft this guy to play QB there would be 11 total posts on this forum.

Chad didn't have a twice surgically repaired shoulder in that game.
