I am in a football sim league, its basically like fantasy football on steriods. You manage an entire 53 man roster, salary cap...etc. Players are ranked on a scale of 1-10 and thats how they perform in game. Rankings are based both on their stats the previous year/career and the teams performance. Anyway I drafted 5 jets players and am curious your thoughts on them. In the intial stocking draft I ended up with both your Safties. Rhodes and Coleman. Coleman was ranked a 7, Rhodes a 6. In the Rookie draft I picked up Brick and Mangold and Brad Smith. I had no idea I ended up with so many Jets players til I later went back and looked. Anyway Im just curious your thoughts on them and what they may evolve into.
rhodes is very good, coleman is mediocre brick and mangold are good. smith has great potential but is only used on gadget plays so far
Coleman and Rhodes both have tendencies to make aggressive plays on the ball (with varied levels of success), and both are tackling machines, but both are also liabilities in coverage. Coleman is less consistant than Rhodes.
Rhodes was ranked a 6 only because last year was his first or second I think this year he will likely move up to at least a 7.
whoa - where can I get this sim game. I want, I want. Rhodes has all the tools, Coleman doesn't, but he did make all the calls last year, so he has smarts. Brick has all the tools, but I ahve yet to see the fire. Mangold has all the tools AND the fire. Smith has IT, whatever IT is, but who knows if a sim game can account for that. If the game has the preseason function that Madden has I would work on Smith every preseason because he can be special. He already has the best agility of all our WRs.
Its actually aleague i co-run. There are 24 owners. Its a ton of fun but very involved. Unlike Madden you really need to balance your team. Having pro-bowl skill players at WR/QB/RB mean nothing if you have a crap line. Its really relativley realistic. Anyway Rhodes makes me happy because I am keeping him, ill likely cut coleman for cap reasons.
