It's just so annoying these articles, everywhere you go - someone's bitching and complaining about how this all went down. Jets are done, doesn't ESPN have anything better to do -_-
I agree with you on this. But I think it's just pissing off Jets fans because the season was so disappointing. It's just rubbing salt in the wound.
So you freely acknowledge that you are contributing to the destruction of the man's ability to earn a living? How do you sleep at night?
No one gives a shit about what anyone says on a message board, its the 24/7 media coverage that is killing him.
Well, the only reason he gets that coverage is because of his army of sycophantic followers, right? I mean, I think we all agree, much to our chagrin (albeit for vastly different reasons) that nothing he's done on the field this season warrants a fraction of the coverage you think is "killing" him. You people are the perfect parasites. You're engaged in acts of adoration that are destroying its object. By the way, I think you are actually dead wrong about how bad the coverage is for your boy. I think every other third string scrub who never sniffs the field would kill to be that famous. He's going to be set for life no matter what happens from here.
I know if I stay on the internet long enough eventually a T-hater will say " its the fans and haters a like that drive the mania...its double what it would normally be.." but for now I wait patiently.
But who is paying attention to me and Cowboysfan? Nobody important is reading the Tebowmania forum. Other than this forum and another even smaller forum, my Tebow related activity ends there. I'm not writing the Jets any letters, not calling up ESPN, not blogging anywhere... You act like we are marching on Washington or organizing a resistance. Nobody even knows who we are.
Excuse me, when you say 'his army of sycophantic followers', do you mean media talking heads like Merril Hoge, Stephen Smith and Skip Bayless? Look, most fans like we forum posters don't belong to a same group of 'you people' as those guys.
ESPN posts a ridiculous Tebow related article and a thread here is generated within an hour by a Tebow fan. Another Tebow fan then makes the astute observation that the coverage of Tebow by ESPN is killing the poor slob, but its not Tebow's fan's fault. Nobody pays attention to them. Certainly not ESPN. Makes perfect sense.
