Not another headache! I know, but this guy has tons of potential and McClain does NOT want to be in Oakland next season. Back in Alabama, dude was good at getting to the QB, he's got the instincts and he knows the 3-4 defense. Not sure if the Raiders ran a true 3-4 defense where his skills would be on display. Rex could make this guy a play-maker.

Dude is malcontent which isn't good for the locker room, but you have to think about a high potential guy like this one. If he came to the Jets he could instantly be the best cover linebacker.

    Pouha - McClain swap?

EDIT - Completely hypothetical people. He's not cut yet, nor has the interest been created. My question is would he be a good fit or not?

where anywhere does it say anything about the Jets in that article? I don't see where you came to the Jets conclusion based on that link at all.

Hypothetical situation, I wanted to bring those up to speed that did not know about McClain's situation. He will more than likely will become a cap casualty due to the cap hit. Linebacker is a big need for the Jets, and no one has brought it up yet, therefore I made a thread on it. Is there a problem with that? Raiders are cutting everyone that is hurting their cap.

Yeah you just posted it, like it was published in an article and don't make it clear it's just you completely speculating so it's misleading.

FWIW, I put the chance of Rolando McClain on the Jets at 0%.

Yeah, maybe a good idea to put hypothetical in the topic title or something - that's fine, I just wanted to get a gauge on people's opinions. We all know Rex is a fan of Alabama players. This guy I think is no different.

I posted a while ago that it would be great if we could trade Harris, bring McClain in and start McClain and Davis.

Harris is on the decline, and he is getting paid more than P.Willis.

McClain has problems and whatever, but sometimes a location change could help someone, and his play would definitely help us.

    Fair enough.

I think the Jets are going to be very careful with signing bad character guys this offseason. I think guys like Titus Young (now a Ram), McClain etc, the Jets will avoid like the plague.

no. davis is scotts replacement. why does everyone here forget about the draft picks. signing mcclain is a waste of $ when we have a younger guy on the bench that can play

Nothing wrong with healthy competition per Idzik, if he can be re-negotiated and be cheap no reason not to take a flyer on him and see what his attitude is truly like. McClain was the better prospect, let's see Davis beat him in competition.

The key is "healthy"...Not bringing in a guy who has a history of off the field issues. Idzik also is big on "the power of we." He is not going to perpetuate the Jets rep by bringing in guys with off the field problems.

Idzik has brought in questionable characters before in the Seahawks. Lynch and Bruce Irvin. Surely he had the same principles in Seattle. Same applies to McClain, if he's a dick then you cut him before his new contract becomes guaranteed. If he sees a player that can help the team he will bring him in, if he has character issues and it's well-documented during his tenure with the Jets, he'll get cut.

His potential as a linebacker far outweighs it and in the 3-4? With proper coaching he could end of the 2nd best on the team.

Sometimes you gotta give guys a shot. A change of teams could help a guy out. He's still very young and has way more potential than Harris.

And yes, Davis is Scott's replacement, but let's not pull a Mark Sanchez and NOT give the kid competition.

I see this crap on here all the time. Most of you are completely rude to someone, god forbid, they put something in the "wrong" spot on here. You tools get microsoft muscles and bash people. The dude wants a guy on the Jets, he brought it up, if its in the wrong topic, oops. This board is full of whiny, darksider, douche bags recently. Spelling police and sky is falling jerkoffs. Be a fan, be a good person, and SUPPORT your team. The front office is smarter than you, i guarantee it!

I agree however I find it hypocritical that in the same paragraph where you reprimand others for being rude you're calling them tools, douchebags, and jerkoffs.

    Two big if's:

    1. if McClain starts playing like a team player and a leader that MLB is supposed to be.
    2. if Harris's contract gets taken care of somehow.

If 1 and 2 are both resounding YES, I might take a flyer on him.

Harris's role could become similar to Bart Scott back in 09.

Harris and McClain would be a beast ILB duo. People think Davis is good enough, I disagree, I need to see more and I need to see people compete with him for that starting gig. He hasn't proved anything yet

If everyone posted a misleading thread indicating something then providing a link which doesnt allude to the misleading content of the thread then we would never get accurate information. That's all there is to it.

And yes, this post is pretty hypocritical.
