While ever the "roughing the kicker" penalty exists, opposing teams should stay the hell away from the punter. For the small chance of a blocked punt, I wouldn't risk an automatic first down for the opposing team. Particularly when a crybaby kicker is holding his shin and rolling around in the dirt.
Running into the kicker instead of roughing then? Roughing is for roughing. Smith never touched him or "roughed him".
That's the type of call that I can excuse, it's tough to tell in real speed sometimes but going back and loking at fasano drop that ball- there isn't any excuse for that one.
the eric smith one should have been running into the kicker. it was definitely a penalty though. dumbass eric smith, whos supposed to be a special teams ace, should know to dive to the side. of the kicker not right at him. the fasano catch though really pissed me off. in fact, when they didnt overturn it i punched one of my hardwood dining chairs in the seat and my knuckles instantly blew up haha. that was just as bad a call as the green bay one. and it totally gave them the td too, considering how deflating it is to have somthing lke that happen. they are professionals and should get over it, but something as blatant as that just makes the guys feel like they are fighting an uphill battle, and to have that happen right on the goal line... the refs gave the phins that td.
