Put him opposite Revis along with Rhodes and you got a good secondary. Who are they gonna pick on?

I think you better prepare yourself for the idea of Asomugha in a Patriots jersey.

which teams in the pas have won with 2 great corners??? U realize teams can still throw to the middle of the field to tight ends, throw to guys out of the backfield, throw to slot reciever guys, run the ball..

WE DONT NEED 2 GREAT CORNERS! We just need a solid #2

doesnt even matter who the corners are, its all about pressure. corners can only cover for so long and even great receivers sometiems dominate great corners simply bc of the way the game is called/played. Fact is qbs throw bad throws/ints more often than not bc of pressure, not bc of great corners. We need a CONSISTENT pass rush, chadwick coulda read a book last week.

I was just going to say, either sign him or try to make sure he doesn't sign with the Pats or Fins. What makes you say this? Just a hunch?

That sounds right, the Raiders would be crazy to let him walk.

    Then again....Al Davis....

He axed his old agent and hired Tom Condon. If that's not an indication that he's ready to go to war with the Raiders if they franchise him.. I don't know what is.

Exactly. The Broncos tried that with Champ Bailey and Dre Bly. Look how that turned out.

Randy Moss makes me think that, actually. And the fact that their secondary sucks. For years they did it without a marquee WR, went out and blew the league apart with Moss. If they could take a #1 wideout out of the picture with their defensive schemes, it would do wonders with the defense. Plus the fact that NA is a character player and not a douche like Ty Law was.

Now that the season is finally over, can someone with the appropriate knowledge let us all know why we played 16 games with only half a secondary?

I mean, seriously...Revis and Rhodes are elite players. But Eric Smith, Abram Elam, the corpse of Ty Law, Hank Poteat, David Barrett, Drew Coleman, et al are not going to cut it, at least not as starters.

The scariest part is that we went into the season without Poteat and Law. And Smith starting.

I really like Hank Poteat as a nickle guy. He reminds me so much like Ray Mickens

    Bly was vastly overrated

So do I. Unfortunately, they kept putting him on tight ends.

u can't expect a CB to cover a TE as well as a LB because of the size difference. Poteat thrives playing the slot against WR

He'll probably be tagged and traded to the Pats for a bucket of chicken and a bag of Depends.
