self-explan. 2 weeks to get ready. runs harder than jones, tougher to tackle and more elusive.

This thread is a fail already...

Chatman can play a little. But his first week after coming back, ha. He's gotta prove he's better than TJ or Leon...

I think Chatman could end up challenging to start by the end of the year, but realistically, the guy hasn't even taken a regular season snap for us yet. And who knows? He might actually light a fire under Jones' ass and the entire unit will be productive. This thread is premature.

The Chatman love is mind numbing. Yeah he carried the load week 4 of the preseason when no starters ever touched the field. But he hasn't faced any actual starters in our offense yet. For all we know he'll be good for 1 YPC against real defenses.

I don't know if he should start but I definitely want to see him get some carries.

I don't think there are a ton of people thinking this way (Chatman love), that is a huge exaggeration. However, I think there are a lot of people realizing the limitations in TJ's game.

Just seems to me that by watching Chatman's preseason game that he runs a lot harder than TJ, so maybe he'd make a good goal line back for the team, since TJ and Leon are both pretty useless at that.

When did Chatman last make enough plays to get his weak offensive team to a Super Bowl and then run for over 100 yards in that game?

I think we should kidnap LT and Adrian Petersen and fuse them into one person, and start him instead!

I agree I definitely think he can be a difference maker from within the 5 and possibly give us some confidence running the ball on 3rd and one.

Am I the only one that isn't seeing the O-line creating any holes?

Here is a Bears fan who knows what he is talking about to explain to you Jones' role with the Bears Super Bowl team.

dude, let him get a few carries and see what he does with it. we have no idea what he's going to look like, seeing as we only saw him in preseason games, and during those almost-meaningless scrimmages, he was on steroids.

of course he will be the greatest thing we have ever seen, that is why he has done so well over his career. thats why he has so many pro bowl appearances. thats why he was so highly sought after during the offseason. yeah yeah thats it he is the best and will do all the things this team needs to get to the superbowl.

because thomas jones sucks too. dont forget that he sucks and has no heart and cant run the ball and hasnt run the ball even remotely well this year even though he hasnt gotten the ball enough. its because he sucks and we got robbed by the bears on that trade.

in case you didnt realize this entire post was in jest and almost as much of a mockery as the posts it is making fun of. :)

That's why you never heard of Ernest Graham the starting runningback for the Buccaneers. Never mind the fact that he was undrafted, or the fact that he was a career back up. He never got a chance at the starting RB job during his career until injuries to Cadillac and look where he is. He's only a top 10 back in the league this year.

Sometimes the best players are right under your nose.

My theory is that the reason TJ doesn't try to bounce runs to the outside is that he knows he's slower than the LBs and they will beat him to the outside and tackle him for a loss. At least with Chatman in the bounce to the outside will become an option and we won't have to keep watching the RB run into the butts of his own linemen.

The bigger question is - how is Chatman going to perform now that he is off of the juice?
