I may be wrong, but I thought it was #95 Q. Williams who jumped on Henry Anderson's blocked punt yesterday. Which presents the obvious question--WHY is young stud Q. Williams out there/playing on the punt return team. It is just a good way for one of the very few young stars on the jets to get a serious injury. Giants CB Jason Sehorn tore his knee up in an exhibition game v. the jets when the Giants experimented with him as a returner. He never returned to his pro bowl level of play. Jets CB Bryce Hall suffered a massive injury just last year blocking on the punt team in college, and it cost him millions in draft position and bonus money. It WOULD just like the jets to have Q. Williams tear his knee up on the punt return team. The jets cannot be that short on special team players, could they? I thought Gase learned his lesson last year when Avery Williams got hurt (season ending) in an exhibition game playing with all the reserves. Even if the jets special teams coach wanted #95 Q. Williams out there, Gase should have overruled him just for the safety of one of their few young star players. Dumb shit.
I don't remember seeing him out there in other games. If it was a one off as a response to the Chargers' ST struggles to really pressure them in this sort of situation then I'd say that it was good rather than bad coaching.
