What do you think will change come week one? I knew who all was on the roster at WR currently, but seeing it on the DC just really let me visualize just how not bad at WR we are this year. I actually really like this group quite a bit. I mean we know what we have in Decker and Kerley so we just need one competent guy opposite deck and we gon be jus fine.
I think Jalen Saunders will move ahead of Clyde Gates. Jacoby Ford may as well. Sudfeld will move ahead of Amaro CJ will move infront of Ivory Kerry Hyder will move infront of TJ Barnes McDougle will beat out Patterson
HE'S TIM FUGGER MUTHAFUGGER!!! ...i don't know who he is, besides appernelty being a guy off the practice squad. but if he does anything I'll be the first to shout that out.
I'm really impressed with this years roster in comparison to years past but this ^ did jump out to me as well. I mean think where we would be if we wouldn't have brought Pace back. Hopefully we won't have to test that mother Fugger out.
If we keep 25 defensive players on the 53 man roster: Assume minimum of 5DL, 8LB, and 10 DB's. Within that 23 minimum, the 4th ILB spot, and the 4th S spot are still up for grabs. They'll be 2 more additional spots available to round out the 25. That leaves only 4 roster spots for Jarrett, Miles, Antwan Barnes (possible temporary PUP candidate), Jeremiah George, Troy Davis, Dixon, Reeves, Dowling, Josh Bush, IK, Reilly, TJ Barnes, Hyder, Grady, Finau, Fugger, Edds, and Devitto. 4 spots between 18 guys you could make a case for. big time competition. How do you choose? you need to balance having realistic backups who could play in 2014 if injury necessitates, special teams contribution, and keeping an eye on the future. it'll be tough no doubt If i had to guess right now, it'd be Jarrett, Miles, George, and Troy Davis (until Antwan Barnes ready). George needs to really show something on ST to keep that spot from Edds tho, as Edds probably the better LB right now (knee permitting). TJ Barnes is making a strong case to keep too.
They call him Fugger, Tim Fugger, The quarterback mugger Gonna strip-sack yo' ball And run it back to the Hall All the way to Canton All the fans are chantin': "GO FUGGER GO!" "GO FUGGER GO!" "F-U-G-G, TIM TIM FUGGER! "TIM TIM FUGGER!" 'Cause Fugger's fast, And Fugger's swift- Gonna hit 'em so hard he'll make they mothers twitch! So get yo' 57 jerseys out Fugger's gonna ball out! On the field of battle Skulls are gonna rattle! Y'all might not know him yet but this dude is the best, Now it's time for Fugger Football wit' the New York Jets! Okay, I probably shouldn't write raps anymore, and I know he probably won't make the team, but I couldn't resist.
I'll be surprised if these things are the same for too long Gates still over our new additions Saunders, Ford, Evans (IR?), and Enunwa Green over Richardson
Probably be crossing Shaq Evans off the WR list. Still not enough to get Clyde Gates kicked off it (yet).
Rex has actually spoken a number of times about Edds, the first time I heard Fugger's name was in the OP of this thread.
Sounds like Shaq Evans is headed to the IR, sucks that his rookie season will be a wash but it least we wont have to expose him to other teams. Decker and Hill are locks and i'd expect Saunders to be a lock as well. Hill, unless he has a poor pre season will most likely be on the team and starting opposite Decker in a "make or break" year for him unless Nelson really steps up. I think this gives Salas a real good shot of making the team now. Looks like Salas, Nelson, Ford, Gates, Enuwa, and Hakim battle it out for two spots at the back end of the depth chart.
This roster looks good on paper but I still have a lot of questions. We have a tough schedule the first half of the year against a lot of good QBs I hope this secondary can get the job done.Seeing Clyde Gates on the roster is something I hope changes by opening day, with all the cap room we had we couldn't find a better option for depth?
