Well life comes at you fast...Now I will say, I don't think the rivalry is that much of a rivalry between the Jets and Giants but after going 0-5, OBJ, Marshall, Harris all going out for the year due to injury, news has broke that Dominic Rodgers Cromartie has been suspended for apparently coming to practice and leaving. Also there is also news that Rodgers-Cromartie was pissed at McAdoo for benching him on Sunday and it was never resolved. I can totally see the Giants getting a top 3 pick and cleaning house
Even worse, it is being reported that Rodgers-Cromartie was in a physical altercation with McAdoo on Sunday. Edit: Good thing Francesa isn't retired just yet. He'll have to talk about this "cuuuh-kas"
Those assholes are gonna get our quarterback while we beat up on the jaguars and the browns. Goddamnit.
The Giants will draft Rosen, and Woody will fly over on his umbrella to trade our first rounder for Eli. You heard it here first.
I would sign brady for a year just to watch peoples heads explode when he slips on a jets jersey. Boston would literally implode.
It appears evident to me that McAdoo is part of the problem if not mostly the problem. The players don't like him. He's quick to blame everyone without taking any accountability for himself and even called out his 2x Super Bowl winning quarterback. I could still see them winning games down the stretch. No ones completely eliminated until they have 8 losses. Eli isn't just going to quit even if other players will. I think Francessa said they've started 0-5 like 4-5 times and only finished with less than 5 wins once.
2. New York Giants Josh Rosen, QB, New York Giants. Ahhh Rosen in the Big Apple. From L.A. to NYC. So perfect. There is some Eli to Rosen's game, but I think Rosen has more upside than Eli ever did. After gearing up for what looked like a deep playoff run this season, the Giants are 0-5, Odell Beckham Jr.'s out for the year, and Manning looks like he's on his last legs. The offensive line hasn't been good either. Rosen ushers in a new era for the G-Men.
You are absolutely right on that. I'm an uprooted Pats fan here in New York, and I can tell you if that were to happen, people would go insane. You'd definitely get your entertainment value's worth, and not just on Sundays!
It's so easy for them to say he has more upside, but still sort of a ridiculous statement. Eli has 2 SB wins and MVP's. He also finished 3rd in Heisman voting his senior year. That's some lofty shoes to fill.
The inevitable Eli trade rumors have started, with the quite plausible Jaguars being mentioned. Their QB situation is obviously terrible, with only Baltimore and Miami having a worse passing offense, their rushing offense is best in the league, and their defense is pretty good, especially in terms of scoring (tied for second in the league). Sounds like all they need is a QB, and their executive vice president of football operations, Mr. Coughlin, kind of likes Eli. Besides saving some money and getting some draft picks, trading Eli would also put the Giants in 100% tank mode, with no wins after they traded him actually very possible, if not probable.
I can't imagine it happens midseason although if there were ever a midseason quarterback trade to occur, this is the perfect scenario. Give Eli two weeks or so to learn the offense. They play the Rams, Bengals, Colts and Chargers in their next four weeks. Obviously the Rams game is out. So see if the team can sneak by going 2-2 over that stretch and then you can hear Eli up for the playoffs. I'm starting to get the feeling that the Giants are going to completely clean house this offseason and get rid of McAdoo and Jerry Reese. Reese has sort of been on the hot seat with his poor drafting of recent and not fixing the offensive line or running game is likely the final nail in the coffin for him.
McAdoo reminds me completely of Greg Schiano and his tenure with the Buccaneers. Arrogant punk of a coach, where the players are the only ones screwing up. Not to mention they have their own little mutiny on their hands with the DRC suspension and letting Odell run a muck doing whatever he damn well pleases for the past year and a half. I'll also say that I strongly dislike McAdoo's whole attitude. He seems like a product of Aaron Rodgers making him look like a much better coach than he actually is. Dude was the Giants coach for 18-19 games at the time and calls his 2x Super Bowl MVP quarterback out for 'bad quarterback play,' on letting the clock run out in a situation they should've been kicking the damn field goal anyways. Bold move McAdoosh.
I told my buddies, who are all Giants fans... this is fate smiling on you douchbags. You'll get your QB of the future in this draft and have another 10-12 years of competing for Super Bowls.
There are some trade rumors circulating that Eli could be traded to Jacksonville in the next week or two. Edit : Sorry , just saw statjeff22 already posted this.
Have to agree about McAdoo. He is definitely a big part of the problem. Injuries will keep them from winning many games, and they have a pretty tough schedule going forward. Maybe the biggest game on their schedule will be vs the 49's for draft position.
