I mentioned in another thread that bad teams lose close games....and I believe this to be true. However, the positive side of this is that the difference between good and bad teams is small. When you lose arguably your best player on defense, and your most dynamic playmaker on offense within a week of one another, it isn't hard to figure out which side of the ledger you will end up on.

As for Sanchez, yes he makes mistakes, but he is showing that he can put the team in a position to win late in games. It is not hard to see that this guy is going to be an EXCELLENT NFL QB. He has the right attitude and work ethic to make him successful. Rookie QBs don't win Super Bowls. However, the lessons he is learning this season will pay dividends in the future.

Shotty - I don't know what to think. There are times when I think he is a genius, and then there are other times I want to punch him in the head. I'd like to see him stay though as I think Sanchez needs the continuity.

As for the defense, I think you've got a few guys that think they are better than they are. I'll start with Scott. This guy has been the invisible man....just disappeared. If he played half as good as he talks, he'd be a HOFer. I am also hugely disappointed in Rhodes. I was always a big fan, but if he can't succeed in this defense, then he won't ever succeed. In the offseason, we need to really improve the d-line. The rest of the D is pretty good, but the line is average at best. I'll cut Ryan (the defacto DC) a little slack here as, he needs more good players.

Ryan the HC....I really like the attitude he is trying to bring to this team, but he's got to learn a little more about managing a game. Can't believe we were down to 1 TO at the end of the game. I am not going to fault him for trying to energize the fanbase....in general, we have no home field advantage. However, a better product on the field, will bring more enthusiasm.

I'd write more, but I've gotta run.

Take heart Jet fans. This season is going to be tough the rest of the way, but the future will be better....much better. I feel it in my bones....and I tend to gravitate to the dark side.

I have bashed Schottenheimer plenty, but this loss has got to be put on the defense on the final drive.

No excuses there. You cannot bend over and take it in the a-s like that and talk any trash about any other team (Bart Scott) or claim to be anything other than what you are, losers. And I don't want to hear about statistics, about leading the league in Yards allowed per game, etc.

    great post...

although i would have to disagree about bart scott. he does talk a ton but i think he's played(somewhat) well minus a huge few lapses. it's the defense collectively that just has lapses. and without jenkins, those lapses are much more common.

rhodes without a doubt has been a disappointment. missing tackles and blowing coverage more than i remember him making any type of significant plays
