Lets use this as a status and thoughts update thread for Milliner. For the present day we may need to use this as a missing persons report. What is Dee's status currently, has he practiced this week? Feelings, comments, actions moving forward? I have had high expectations for this guy and I am NOT throwing in the towel on him yet. I know he's had a very hard time staying on the field but, with the likes of Revis and a secondary centric coach like Bowles this guy has to be evolving if in no other way than just becoming a more knowledgeable player. His athleticism is world class. If he's paying attention to the vets and the staff off-field and watching the play of Williams and Skrine on-field, seeing two young players having success, this has to be great motivation to take hold of a starting role. I'm rooting for him hard to overcome the negative stigma and title as a bust, you can do it Dee! I did plan on just posting this in another thread but all the Milliner related threads were specific to injury or situational type things. This will be intended for more general Dee topics.
I don't know what to say about Milliner anymore. This year is a total wash for him. That's 2 years now where he has barely gotten on the field. It's hard to judge a guy who never plays. All I know is we saw great progress from him in the last month of the 2013 season. Since then he's been a ghost. I'm expecting him not to suit up again this week
Jets CB's have been banged up for a lot of the season and he can't get on the field. Like any NFL player an injury could put him on the field at any point but it just hasn't happened this season. Next year Cro will be gone most likely and Dee will have another chance to step forward, but time is growing short on him with the Jets. I don't expect they'd exercise the 5th year option if they had to do it after this season.
Who cares? This train is rolling WITHOUT even a thought about Milliner. Why would he even be on your mind at a time like this? Jets fans amaze me.
You can still judge. for instance, there is no way I'd rely on milliner to play all 16 games and i'm sure the GM feels the same.
I hate when high picks disappoint. Excuses are like aholes, everyone's got one. He was a bad injury prone pick. Much like Hill and Geno and Coples and a few others I could name, he just doesn't have IT. He's under contract so he'll be here next year (again, much like Geno) unless Mac can pull a trade out of his hat.
Dee Milliner is set to break numerous franchise records. He has to be approaching the record for being weeks on the injury report and inactive appearances both by now.
He was active and was playing some ST's, and then he was inactive again. My guess is Bowles likes his other options more at this point. Prolly has something to do with Marcus Williams back and in the rotation too. Mr. Irrelevant at this point
Dee Milliner at this point reminds me of Pat Kelly. For those that may not remember him, Kelly was a talented 2b prospect for the Yanks back in the early 90's. The guy was hurt almost as much as he was healthy. I think he may have played most of a season once and that could be considered a miracle. He'd often come back from the DL and play a few games and wind up back on the DL, sometimes in the same week; once if my memory serves me correctly it was in the first game after he returned.
thought he shouldnt have made the team out of camp, still shocked he is on the roster. not good enough to see the field defensively, doesnt contribute on special teams, cant stay healthy
"All we are saaayyin, is give Dee a chance..." Probs to the guys that originally came up with this...
