The Jets line up in punt formation. A good punt goes sailing, and Mouton muffs the punt. Brad Smith, the gunner on the play, sees this. So what does he do?

He doesn't go for the ball, he jumps on Mouton and holds him down.

By doing that, Smith KNOWS the closest player is a Jet. By holding down Mouton, he guarantees that the Jets will recover that ball, leading to a touchdown, and a huge part.

That was such a crucial, heads up play by Brad Smith, that needs to get love.

More importantly was the momentum change after that play. The titans had no chance after that.

agreed, huge play...however, I'm not sure Smith knew the ball had come loose. Be it luck or a heads up play, great play by Smith

really heads up play by Brad Smith. Regardless of his relative mediocrity at WR, he's a speacial teams ace!

I thought the first Sanchez fumble (when we were up 14-0) was just as momentous. The game very well could have turned into a blowout if not for that play. (Remember that we were driving on that play . . . we were at their 36 yard line)

Good point... the 2nd fumble was huge too but that 1st one really allowed the Titans to get back into the game. If we go up 21-0 the game is a blowout and they never recover. As is I'd rather the Jets get tested like they did today and have an oppurtunity to see how Sanchez responded to the adversity and I'd say he did pretty good against a team that is much better than 0-3.

Yes that was a very smart play....I give Westhoff a lot of credit too for that.
