Brett is not the only one with butterflies in his stomach when he takes the first snap as the Jets play the Dolphins on Sunday. Every Jet fan in this country and many across the world will be just as nervous and excited that this season begins with a new ray of hope. Jet fans from NY to Wisconsin, Australia to Italy Germany to the UK and beyond are building up their own set of butterflies. Do we as Jet?s fans remember when we were this nervous about a season start?
Mind you, many of us had much hope before the arrival of Brett, with a beefed-up defense and an up-graded OL, but in our guts we felt the QB position was still shaky. Enter Brett, in my opinion an immediate improvement to the position and perhaps even more crucial bringing in the instant capacity to elevate the performance of his team mates each and every week. You don?t need to know the playbook to inspire confidence and the ultimate desire to win.
So why is the press so intent in dooming Brett with the Jets? The answer as Jet fans is, WHO CARES? You can hear the usual array of BS. He will be rusty, he is a little old and slow, he does not know the play book. I suppose if he played in Minnesota instead of the Jets this year he would not be old and rusty and he would know the play book and throw no picks according to Joe Theisman. Hell, I am more worried about what if we did not have Brett? We would be more predictable, we could not open up the field, and we would struggle even more with the running game for starters. And yes the biggest fear of all, once we got behind by a touchdown or two we were doomed because the long ball was a dream never to materialize. We new KC was not ready and a year under Brett Favre could be huge for both he and the other gem QB also named Brett.
So for all of my TGG comrades let the butterflies begin. I feel we have much to gain and very little to lose. We are on our way to a respectable, exciting and yes dare I say a season with HOPE. Don?t know where we end-up, hopefully fighting for a playoff spot, but unlike the many anti-Jets in the media I know this for a fact. We will be in a better spot with Brett than without, this year and beyond.
Go Jets go. Play smart, stay safe, be confident, avoid mistakes, and take your game to the next level.

Favre. Faneca. Gholston. Jenkins. Pace. Westoff. Ratliffe. Keller. Ed. Sterger.

Talk about off-season moves. This team is built to win and built to win now. The word excited doesn't even begin to describe it.

The pregame stuff and Sterger and this new concept are going to be a tough sell if the JETS don't win games.......
