    MONDAY MORNING ONE-LINERS

Former Steelers RB Byron "Bam" Morris wants to get back into the NFL after spending time in prison and (even worse) the National Indoor Football League.

Bam Morris paging Nick Saban as we speak.

I'll try to use small words for you...."working a guy out", is not the same as "signing him".

You don't see any other teams working out Vick, and working him out is bad enough. Besides he will fit right in there with Ricky.

I'm not sure if that was Bam, it seems to be what they all get caught for.

Right...because working him out costs us what exactly? The guy isn't a Phin, he won't be a Phin. But he's also not going to jail for life. It's entirely possible that he will turn his life around and straighten up. Look, Vick isn't Cecil Collins. Nobody but himself was hurt by his idiotic actions. I still don't want him to be a Phin, but he didn't do anything bad enough that he deserves a lifetime sentence. Oh, and Ricky isn't going to be wearing a Phin uniform this year either, so you might want to update those snappy comebacks.

Bam Morris, a former leading rusher for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was arrested and subsequently sentenced to 10 years in prison for violating his probation on a 1996 drug conviction. Bam had pleaded guilty to the underlying charges, and is reported to have had a substance abuse problem.

    The original offense
ROCKWALL, Texas -- Pittsburgh Steelers running back Bam Morris was released from jail Friday following his arrest during a traffic stop in which more than six pounds of marijuana in the trunk of his, officials said.

Morris, 24, the leading rusher in this year's Super Bowl, and Rodney Dwayne Reynolds, 26, a passenger in the car, were arraigned Friday afternoon on charges of possession of between 5 and 50 pounds of marijuana.
The men, both from Cooper, appeared in court wearing handcuffs and orange coveralls. Each posted $25,000 bond within an hour of arraignment. If convicted of the third-degree felony, the men could receive two to 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000.
Morris was stopped in a black leased Mercedes about 10:30 a.m. for crossing the outside line and for not wearing a seat belt. An officer from the Northeast Area Drug Interdiction Task Force followed Morris about three miles before pulling him over.
After obtaining Morris' permission to search the car, arresting officer Mark Spears found the drugs in the trunk in a sports bag

So he's 34 now and hasn't played football in 10 years? Won't ever be much of anything ever again... but I wouldn't be surprised if a team took him in for a workout (which will likely happen).

The fact that you worked him out shows the fins have no problem with signing felons.I'm sure i heard that a convicted rapist was invited to camp last year.

I think Saban is an excellent coach, but he's trying to bring back these old troubled players to try and establish himself as a take no bullshit coach. And that is bullshit. You will never get through to your players by yelling at them. Not to mention if he wants to establish himself as a take no bullshit Bill Parcells type, he has to win something before taking a bunch of hasbeens and throwing a team of the Missouri County Prisoners together.

Glad you have made your presence felt, so seriously what do you think of "The longest Yard Dolphins" that Saban is trying to assemble.

This thread is lame. Making cracks about Saban / Phinz "trying out" a couple of troubled players is meaningless. Vick wont get signed, so you can scratch him off the list. As for K. Turley, I'm not sure what will happen with him. He's a highly emotional player, but is he's not what I'd consider a convict....

Now some lame Jets fan comes up with this "Bam Morris to Miami" garbage. How clever. You've done very well in giving us a good laugh, now go find a life....
