The first INT was his fault, He threw a ball that shouldn't have been thrown. Take a look at that play he threw it into the defender, it wasn't reached for at all. Both plays to Baker down the stretch were great but the real killer today was the first INT on a ball the QB has to eat. The Jets were running the ball well at that point and that was the real turn of the game.
Has to eat? There's a blitz and he gets rid of the ball to his hot route and the ball is tipped. How that's HIS fault, I have no idea. Like I said before, he was awful today and deserves the criticism...but he did what he was supposed to do. Sometimes ball are tipped...it's how the game works.
He threw a ball into a defender that had allready closed his throwing lane, that's a ball the QB brings down and eats.
Geeze guys, there's enough blame for everyone today so stop piling on Pennington or the defense. Both weren't as good as they could be but remember, both units are acclimating to a new system.. Pennington didn't make the plays he should have. The defense didn't either. DRob was invisible today as was the Jets blitz. Bob Sutton and Schotts both deserve some blame here as well for overly conservative game planning. Both Units sucked today. The Jets couldn't stop the run and you had to know that would hurt them at some point. Pennington couldn't convert critical 3rd downs as well... Its called Growing Pains guys. We'll be seeing more games of this type than what we've seen lately. Patience guys. Patience..
There is certainly enough blame to go around. We can all agree that Pennington was awful today, but he still threw that beauty to Baker at the end. As for the 2nd INT - it was not his arm strength that led to the floater - he was hit HARD as he threw. As bad as Pennington was, the defense was just as bad. How you let Droughns and his 50 yards a game average go for 125, mostly in the first half, is beyond me. And this was with a second string OL for Cleveland. And then Frye is given all day to throw with our amazing pass rush. Can one of DL stunt or do something other than run into the blocker and put their hands in the air. To say that the offense is the Jets strength and put all the weight on them because the Jet defense stinks is not only unfair, but football ignorant. Everybody knows good defense is more consistent than offense (see the Bears as an example). Pennington is going to have his off days. When he does, the defense should hold a team like Cleveland under 20 points.
:shit: a 21.1 qb rating for the 'franchise' :shit: how would you like to be a guy like blaylock, who gets benched for non-production, and then you see pennyboy gets a free pass? mangini talks out of both sides of his mouth. you can't have one rule for the rest of the team and a free pass for the countryboy. parcells had the brass ones to pull bledsoe in the game last week and sit him this week. too bad mangini doesn't have the balls to treat evryone on the team the same way, instead of being a hypocrite. mangold's sister could have played qb and did better than 21.1 hell, even herm's #2 guy, huard, did better than thayt against the seahawk defense. a 21.1 rating against a 2-5 team/unbelievable.
How was it in the closet the past 2 weeks not saying a thing? Now look who comes back!! I'm shocked you didn't mention Noodlearm or Chad Cult...Must be different seeing the light after 2 weeks of holding back posts.
Today was a total team loss...but...how many times has Chad led 4th quarter comebacks? Seriously...it's not a snide remark...I honestly want to know...how many 4th quarter comebacks does he have? I can't think of too many... Actually, now that I think about it...how many WINS does Chad have? Hmmmmm......makes you wonder why so many Chad jerseys at games.... The fans of this team are so willing to swallow the Kool-Aid we still cling to Chad as if he's the next coming of Joe Willy... Let it go people...he's a mediocre talent with abundant accuracy and a good head...he might be a great O-Coord one day...but a Super Bowl caliber QB?
You do know he has the most playoff victories in our franchise history right? Not that it's saying much but I find it hilarious how you say "how many games has he won" when he's done more than pretty much every QB this organization has seen since Namath
It seems like you are since you can post your 10 posts on Chad alone... When he does bad, you come around. It's no secret, but hey, shit happens. Chad was atrocious, extremely awful, no doubt about it.
That just means we were a joke. Before Kurt Warner, I'm sure some no-name had the most for the Rams too. I think Dilfer has the most in Ravens history, but I'm sure the Ravens are happier with McNair.
Where were you the first two weeks when Pennington was lighting up the field and throwing for over 300 yards. I'm sure you were one of the people who was congragulating Chad and supported him. Don't turn your back on a guy after one bad game.
Jet fan since 81....at what point should I want to win a SB and not be happy with a QB who misses 1/3 of EVERY season and will probably never direct this team beyond a few rounds of playoff football? He's a decent QB...the problem is..as Jet fan...well...it's like that old Eddie Murphy routine about giving a starving man a cracker and he'll think it's the best cracker he's ever had... see what I mean...we're starving and Chad's our cracker
After a win I acknowledge his contribution...however, I'm also always aware of his limitations...and he has way too many to ever be a truly successful QB... For however great he's been for us this year, he was the 8th highest rated QB in the league...that basically means he's the best of the middle
Are you saying that we would win a superbowl with Clemmens? If not, give me an idea of who you think would be the best QB to lead this team to a super bowl this year.
