Hatred is fine, but to call them a regular season team is poor judgement to say the least. They have won three super bowls with the same QB n HC. I wouldn't be surprised if they reached the SB again this yr, not saying they will, just saying they have the team to do it. Can't say the same about the Jets or many other teams.
please hurry back to patsfans.com where, maybe, you can find someone that cares what you "as a Pat fan" think...
Jets wouldn't even play the Patriots until the AFC championship the way the seeding goes. I expect the Ravens to win out, they will be 6-0 in their division, that will give them the #1 seed. Patriots will be #2 because I expect Houston to lose at least one game while the Pats win out. Houston will be #3, and Denver #4. Pitt will be #5 and Jets #6 if all goes well. So no matter what, even if we win against Houston, we go to Baltimore, and the only way Jets and Pats can meet is in the Conference Championship, boy wouldn't that be something haha. But honestly, I think if this seeding works out the way it does, this would be our easiest path to SB of the past 3 seasons. Going into Indy in their shoulda coulda woulda perfect season, and playing Manning Brady Roethlisberger back to back was a gauntlet, I'd prefer going playing Yates and Flacco back to back to get back to the AFCCG if that is what we have to do, much easier than what we have faced so far.
assuming you are right in those seedings, the Jets would play the Steelers in the AFC Championship game if they can beat the Ravens because, like the sun setting in the west, the Patriots (since wireless defensive signals evened up the playing field) will lose their annual first home playoff game to the Steelers...
Ya. There's no way a team that gets taken to the wire by Washington and Indianapolis doesn't get smashed to pieces by the Steelers.
If the Jets aren't playing in the SB, I'll be rooting hard for the Pack to pull off the perfect season. Most Pack fans I've met have been really cool. Plus Dolphins have always pissed me off since the Mud Bowl. Would love to see another franchise claim the perfect season just to see them get pissed off.
Toni Iommi - Love your screen name. Sabbath fucking rules. - Love your avatar as well. What an ass. The fact that you're a Pats* fan? Not so much. Good post though. I agree that the NYJ need to make the playoffs.
Pats/Jets .... it would be crazy how high the ratings would be. Last year I believe that game was the highest tv rating ever for divisional game. There would be tremendous pre-game hype for that one. As for the Jets losing a game & getting in, I'm not so sure. Bengals & Raiders still have at least one loss coming. However, I think the Titans will be able to run the table. Think the Steelers/Pats/Ravens are gonna run the table so if Texas loses one game, they'll be locked into the 3 seed no matter what happens in their last game. Titans will then have: Colts (who quit a long time ago) Jags (could be a challenge) Texas (fielding their backups) Texas gets the Colts @ week15 & the Colts as season is ending the Colts should be bringing their A+ effort for probably the first time this season just to try avoiding an 0-16. Lions in their 0-16 were getting pretty close to a win in the ending of their season.
Good post. However I think the Titans will go 3-0 down the stretch meaning the Jets will have to do so. I think every Pats/Jets would love to see a rematch. You guys for revenge of last year, and us for how you swept us this year. And in general I think if division rivals make the playoffs it is always good for football.
NY Jets making the playoffs is good for football ratings. I think last years game in Foxboro broke ratings records for a divisional round playoff game. I would love to see a rematch again this year but if NE gets the 2 seed I dont think its possible until the AFCCG. A lot has to fall in place for that happen seeing as how we are not even a lock for the playoffs right now.
It's nice when band wagoner Jets fan puts his 2 cents in. Explain to me again how the wireless defensive signals have evened up the playing field. The Pats offense has been far more potent post Spygate than pre spygate. Idiot
Why as a Jet fan would you be rooting for the Pats at all, dont we not want them to get the number 1 seed?If they win out they very well will with the easy schedule as a opposed to Baltimore and Pitts schedule.Hopefully Houston wins out since I see them as easy pickins in the playoffs with a third string QB.
i didn't think either the jets or giants would make the playoffs. titans in the afc, and dallas in the nfc. eagles and fins could easily derail both teams. didn't expect the cowboys to blow the home game last week, though. as an afc wild card, i'd rather finish 6th and play 3rd seed, than finish 5th and play on the road in denver. that thin air does effect visiting teams by the time the 4th qtr rolls around. you have to build a huge lead early, like the lions did, and then you can assure a win.
Not for nothing, but the Raiders kicked the shit out of the Jets earlier this season. Obviously they don't have Campbell or McFadden anymore, but my point is that the Jets aren't head and shoulders above these teams like you (and most Jets fans) seem to think. In the NFL, you're exactly what your record says you are.
