I saw this during the game and was confused why the announcers said nothing about it. I knew the refs wouldn't... Tom Brady catches little flak for his spikes-out slide https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...catches-little-flak-for-his-spikes-out-slide/
Didn’t want to start a new thread, but was wondering what everyone would say… would Tom Brady still be the “goat”, if he played in the 70s and 80s? the hits qbs took back then,Brady has seemingly been spared from.
QBs were a lot more pocket mobile in the 70s, not sure he would have done well, but you had guys like Phil Simms and Jeff Hostetler winning SBs in the 80s along with the greats so he probably would have played well.
It's not the first time he's done that either..... If he keeps doing it, hopefully the defensive player on the receiving end gives him the Cobra Kai treatment....
Brady seems to get knocked off his game with a good pass rush. Todays nfl is a lot more strict on hitting the qb. Those guys in the past would get their asses kicked in a way Brady never had to experience.
Brady did, though. It was before his injury, he got hit a lot. I used to get frustrated with the amount of times our guys would knock him down and the fucker would get right back up. After he got his knee turned to spaghetti, he started pounding the turf every time he took a hit and all of a sudden the ownership safety committee wouldn't stand for contract with QBs.
guy has played so dammed long we have highlights before HD (high definition) was a thing. But I do like this one from the SD era
That is one hell of a hit. Helmet comes off, and it looked like a clean hit, but I wonder if that would've drawn a flag today.
Tom Brady on hit that cost Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin rest of season: 'Ought to take out of the game' https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/buccaneers/2021/12/21/tom-brady-rule-change-chris-godwin-injury-hit/8979572002/ More whining from this little bitch. Maybe he’s right. Get rid of the low hits and bring back the helmet to helmet collisions.
