Just heard it of WFAN, remember Ray Lewis hated playing in the 3-4 when Mike Nolan was there, then Rex Ryan and Ngata come in and he's a beast, we got Jenkins and Ryan, i think vima could be really good. I know he's in the 4-3 down in new orleans and he looked good in it this year, but he had really no protection down there, their d-line sucks. Maybe with Jenkins and Ryan here Vilma can work in this defense. Thoughts?

Siragusa also said Ryan was bringing a 4-3 defense to the Jets.

Bringing Vilma back wouldn't be a terrible idea, but you have to wonder:

    a) Would he want to come back after he was pretty much run out of town last year?
    b) Will there be enough cap space to bring him in?

True, but Rex does run some 4-3, i know its a base 3-4, but i think its definitely different then the stlye mangini ran.

Mangina ran the 3-4/4-3 Hybrid defense...that got us a 4-12 record. I think that "Son of Ryan" will bring a much more organized defense to this team.

Siragusa seemed to be a bit misinformed.

Vilma could play in a 3-4 if he had some bodies in front of him will he idk, hopefully he can swallow his pride and come back because he was our best cover lb and with Brandon Spikes not coming out there isnt anyone available to improve that position.

Vilma seems to be loved by the now media types and others but, really the guy racked up stats in a system that didn't work and he made a lot of tackles after the fact...

IMO Vilma is Over Valued by way too many people.

Mayo showed me more than Vilma.

Are u retarded do u even know whos available. If u did u would know that Spikes was probably gonna be the only guy who can come here here and start from day one at MLB, every body else doenst fit what we need Maulauga basically what David Harris is Laurinitis isnt a great cover guy. Everyone else is undersized or too slow maybe Scott McKillop but he's not on Spikes level as a player, we need a cover linebacker specifically a speedy linebacker cause we are slow as hell inside. We pretty much had a former de David Bowens playing MLB for us for about half of the season. Im sure could draft another Schegal who could sit on the bench and be special team guy but we have plenty of those already.

Vilma cannot stop a running back in his tracks. He never makes plays in the backfield. He is just not strong enough to be an impact lB.

Maybe about our defense, but he's not misinformed about where the all-you-can eat buffets are in every NFL city.

Vilma really isn't any good in a 4-3 these days. I don't think we should bring him back. The guys career is on the downswing. Now he is even having off the field issues something that was always a strength of his.

I would much rather bring in Bart Schott to play next to Harris.

Why don't we analyze how the players we've already got are going to maximize thier potential in a Rex Ryan style defense?
